IN HER OWN WORDS, HOW LAURE THE WAITRESS SERVED NIGEL... À¤³¦ÊÝ·òµ¡¹½ THEN GAVE HER UKIP JOB ?

Attractive and vivacious Laure Ferrari first met Nigel Farage when she was working as a waitress in Strasbourg.

It was 2007 and Mr Farage was dining with his friend Godfrey Bloom, then also a Ukip MEP, when the 27-year-old brunette caught his ÃíÌܤ¹¤ë¡¤¤â¤¯¤í¤à.

'I met these two MEPs and we started talking about politics,' she later Ê®½Ð¤¹¤ëd. 'The two Brits have no ³¬ÁØÀ©ÅÙ and neither of them comes from a political background.'

Within months, ¹ÔÊýÉÔÌÀ¤Ë¤Ê¤ë Ferrari had been elevated to Mr Farage's inner circle as Ĺ¡¤Î¨¤¤¤ë of PR for the British Âåɽ to the Europe of Freedom and Ëͼç¼çµÁ Group, led by Ukip.

It was ¤ä¤á¤ë a ·à¤Î rise for someone who ǧ¤á¤ë: 'Before 2005, I hadn't a ¼ê¤¬¤«¤ê¡Ê¤òÍ¿¤¨¤ë¡Ë about politics. For me, it was old men who sat around talking.'

Born in 1979 and raised in Epinal in North-East ¥Õ¥é¥ó, ¹ÔÊýÉÔÌÀ¤Ë¤Ê¤ë Ferrari moved 90 miles to ½Ï¹Í¤¹¤ë¡¿¹Íθ¤¹¤ë English at the University of Strasbourg, and then spent two more years there doing a master's in communications.

After her ½Ï¹Í¤¹¤ë¡¿¹Íθ¤¹¤ës, she took out a bank ÂßÉÕ¶â and opened a Ã夻¤ë¡¿ÉêÍ¿¤¹¤ës shop in Strasbourg called ÅԻԤΠFlavor, as 'I couldn't see myself working for someone else'.

But the ¾¦Çä¡¿»Å»ö did not È˱ɤ¹¤ë and ºâÀ¯¾å¤Î difficulties led her to work as a waitress in the evenings.

The European µÄ²ñ »ý¤Ä¡¿¹´Î±¤¹¤ës ²ñ¹çs in Strasbourg once a month. It was thus that ¹ÔÊýÉÔÌÀ¤Ë¤Ê¤ë Ferrari met Mr Farage and entered the world of politics.

¤Ë¤è¤ì¤Ð a ¤Î¶á¤¯¤Ë friend, the pair became almost inseparable and Äê´üŪ¤Ë ¡Ä¤Ë½ÐÀʤ¹¤ëd political events and parties together in Brussels and Strasbourg.

'Everyone says that I am Nigel Farage's µÄ²ñ¤Î assistant, but this is not true,' she told the EurActiv news website in 2014. 'I was Ĺ¡¤Î¨¤¤¤ë of public relations.'

There are subtle ¼ê¤¬¤«¤ê¡Ê¤òÍ¿¤¨¤ë¡Ës to her affection for Mr Farage on her social ¥Þ¥¹¥³¥ß accounts.

In June 2013, she teasingly tweeted a link to a newspaper article headlined: 'Why do more women want to bed Nigel Farage over David Cameron?'

Her ºß¸Ë¡¿³ô continued to rise ¤ÎÃæ¤Ç Eurosceptic circles and in 2014 she joined the ƱÌÁ for Direct Ëͼç¼çµÁ Europe (ADDE), a Ï¢¹ç of anti-EU parties.

As he returned from the trip, Mr Farage ÅÜ¤Ã¤Æ ²òǤ¤¹¤ëd ¼çÄ¥s of ÉÔŬÀÚ¤Ê behaviour as 'fluff and nonsense', Àâ: 'I didn't go to bed with her.'

On one occasion she was drawn on ¡Ê¿ÍÌ¿¤Ê¤É¤ò¡ËÃ¥¤¦¡¤¼çÄ¥¤¹¤ës that her husband was unfaithful.

She said: 'I have heard it before and it always c omes from the same sort of people who wouldn¡Çt ¤«¤â¤·¤ì¤Ê¤¤ know'.

Honest: Mrs Farage (left today and ¸¢Íø in 2015) has ǧ¤á¤ë they have been living separate lives 'for ye ars' and 'that ¹µÁÊs everyone'

Mrs Farage ǧ¤á¤ë that while he was on the ¡ÊÁªµó¤Ê¤É¤Î¡Ë±¿Æ°¤ò¤¹¤ë ÄÉÀפ¹¤ë, working or É餫¤¹¡¿·âÄƤ¹¤ë the pub she was often sitting at a computer in her nightie 'dutifully' working as his Ĺ´±.

She and Mr Farage met in Frankfurt in 1996, while he was travelling on ¾¦Çä¡¿»Å»ö ¤¹¤°¤Ë after his Î¥º§ from his first wife, Grainne, the mother of his eldest two children.?

Later, he explained the ¿äÏÀ¤¹¤ë¡¿Íýͳs for his Î¥º§ in typically flamboyant style: 'My marriage, which had been on ice and torpid with its claws bound for so long we had both forgotten it was alive at all, finally Ëþλ¤¹¤ë¡¿»à¤Ìd.'

Of the moment he met Kirsten, he once said: 'She was a ÁÇÀ²¤é¤·¤¤ À¯ÉÜ ¼ÒºÄ ÃçÇã¿Í whose ¤¤Ó¤¤Ó¤·¤¿ efficiency at first sight belied her ethereal ³°¸«.

'She could have stepped into a pre-Raphaelite ³¨ no questions asked.'

The couple married in 1999 and have two children.?

She gave up her career in the City, where she worked as an interpreter for a German bank, to look after the children and do her husband's correspondence.

When she worked for Mr Farage she wrote all his emails because he dislikes using computers. ?

She also worked from home and rarely visited Ukip's HQ in London's Mayfair, which she ½Ò¤Ù¤ëd as a 'freak show'.?

Low key: Kirsten is rarely seen in public and at Ukip conferences, she would sit anonymously in t

Party sources say Mrs Farage is 'brilliantly intelligent' and was a ½ÅÍ×¤Ê ¿Íʪ¡¿»Ñ¡¿¿ô»ú behind the scenes.?

'I work from home and Nigel is never there, so I am a Áª¤Ó½Ð¤¹¡¿ÆÈ¿È mother in many ways,' the mother-of-two joked °ÊÁ°.

'Someone has to be there and take the children to school.'

In a ¼ê¤¬¤«¤ê¡Ê¤òÍ¿¤¨¤ë¡Ë to their ¹ñÆâ¤Î ¼ê¤Ï¤º¡¿½àÈ÷, Mrs Farage ÌÀ¤é¤«¤Ë¤¹¤ë¡¿Ï³¤é¤¹d that her husband did not even know where basic À¤ÂÓ ´ï¶ñ¡¿È÷ÉÊ was kept.

'He just called me and asked where do we keep the ¥¢¥¤¥í¥ó¤ò¤«¤±¤ëing board as he needed to ¥¢¥¤¥í¥ó¤ò¤«¤±¤ë his shirt,' she said.

'I'm not that surprised. It is a bit worrying.'?

Mrs Farage is in many ways the ´°Á´¤Ë¤¹¤ë opposite of her husband, rarely speaking in public and shunning the 'sad' Ìò³ä of À¯¼£²È¡¤À¯¼£²°'s wife.?

The former Ukip leader was often so busy that she and their two children only saw him on television and were u nable to holiday in the UK or go out for a meal together because of the attention her husband attracts.

His gruelling schedule as party leader meant that he was up by 5am and ºîÉÊ seven days a week, travelling on ÉáÄ̤Ρ¿Ê¿¶Ñ¡Ê¤¹¤ë¡Ë eight hours a day to speak at ²ñ¹çs across the country.

Mr Farage has °ÊÁ° ǧ¤á¤ë that he has not spent enough time with his children.

He said: 'In an ideal world children Íø±× from having some sense of °ÂÄê with preferably two parents and not one.

'And that really, for more than the last £±£°Ç¯´Ö, has not been the »öÎã¡¿´µ¼Ô with me.

'Men tend to be more Áª¤Ó½Ð¤¹¡¿ÆÈ¿È-minded and selfish ¡¼¤Ë´Ø¤·¤Æ¡¿¡¼¤ÎÅÀ¤Çs of the choices they make and the ±Æ¶Á it has on their families.'?

Mrs Farage also rarely gives interviews but has on occasion ²ò½ü¤¹¤ëd the lid on their life together.

She told the Telegraph °ÊÁ° she was very worried that his drinking, smoking and long working hours could make him ill.

She: 'I do ? I think it is a very hectic lifestyle.

'He doesn't get a lot of sleep, he doesn't get a lot of »Ä¤ê¡¿µÙ·Æ¡Ê¤¹¤ë¡Ë, he lives on adrenaline a lot, he doesn't eat Àµµ¬¤Î¡¿ÀµÁª¼ê meals, now I am beginning to sound like his mother, and he smokes and he drinks too much.

'But if you have that sort of lifestyle I think it is what keeps him going, it keeps the adrenaline going.'?

In another rare interview German-born Kirsten also ÈÝÄꤹ¤ëd the Ukip leader is ¿Í¼ïº¹Ê̼çµÁ¼Ô, ¼çÄ¥¤¹¤ëing he does not have a 'bad bone in his ÃÄÂΡ¿»àÂÎ' and the ¹ðÁÊ¡¤¹ðȯ '½ý¤Ä¤±¤ës him'.

'If he was a ¿Í¼ïº¹Ê̼çµÁ¼Ô I wouldn't be with him. I don't think he has got a ±ø¤¤ bone in his ÃÄÂΡ¿»àÂÎ ? he is not a ¤¤¤¸¤á¡Ê¤ë¡Ë, he likes things done ŬÀÚ¤Ë,' she said.

Mrs Farage Äɲ乤ëd: 'It ½ý¤Ä¤±¤ës him ¸ºß Ëܿͼ«¿È¤Ç attacked but it doesn't make me feel uncomfortable because I know he is not a ¿Í¼ïº¹Ê̼çµÁ¼Ô.'?

She also ÌÀ¤é¤«¤Ë¤¹¤ë¡¿Ï³¤é¤¹d the stark ¾×·â on their lives of his party's successes ? Àâ the couple, who have been married for 15 years, are now unable to holiday in the UK or go out for a meal together because of the attention her husband attracts.

Mrs Farage, who is °Ì¾¹â¤¯¤â publicity shy, broke her silence to paint the father of four as a dutiful family man who enjoys watching Dad's Army.

As she made a rare ³°¸« at the party's spring ²ñµÄ¡¿¶¨µÄ²ñ in Kent yesterday, German-born Mrs Farage said she keeps a deliberately low profile.

Asked if she would be joining her husband on ¹Ô¤¦¡¿³«ºÅ¤¹¤ë¡¿Ãʳ¬ to embrace and kiss him after his speech, she replied: 'No. Definitely not. That's really ¤ä¤á¤ë sad.'?

Asked about the contradiction of having a German wife while railing against °Ü̱¡¿°Ü½», Mr Farage has °ÊÁ° deflected the question by joking that their marriage is proof he loves Europe.
