A young mother has opened up about the moment she discovered she was 妊娠している just a week after her partner was killed trying to save his best friend's life.

Melissa Mitchell, from Melbourne, welcomed her little bundle of joy Elliann James Hall on Saturday - a daughter she 述べるs as her '奇蹟 baby'.

Her birth 告示 comes after Callum Hall, 21, died when he was struck by a train travelling 65km/h as he tried to stop Jason Kahukiwa from taking his own life last May.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the 22-year-old 未亡人 said she felt she had 実行するd her high school sweetheart's dream of having a big family.

'It sounds strange but I felt like my 団体/死体 was trying to tell me I was giving him what he always 手配中の,お尋ね者 - a big family,' she said.

'Callum grew up with a half-sister so he always 手配中の,お尋ね者 to have five kids. So when he died, I was freaking out, thinking I had wasted everything.

'But just a week before his funeral, I 設立する out I was having another one on the way. It felt like a 奇蹟.?

'As horrible as it felt at the time, it was the only good thing that was coming into my life after he died.'

The mother-of-three gave birth to a beautiful healthy daughter over the 週末.

'I see her dad when I look at her,' she said.

'She looks just like him, she has his 注目する,もくろむs.. His brows. Just a splitting image of her father.

'Callum always thought it was amazing that our two older daughters - Valerie, 老年の four, and Lilliana, two, were born on February 2 and 3. Our 奇蹟 baby was born on February 4.'

Ms Mitchell 述べるd the doting father as a 'selfless' man who once pulled over so he could help an 年輩の woman cross a road.

'He was the most selfless person I've ever met,' she said.

'I can't even explain. Everything about him was just perfect.'

Ms Mitchell said she's looking 今後 to telling her three daughters stories when they're older, 特に about their 'hero' father.

'I will tell them about the 肉親,親類d of person he was and how much he loved playing with them and taking Valerie to ballet and swimming lessons,' she said.

'The girls are still young but my eldest has been amazing. She always says 甘い things like "daddy is watching us from heaven".'

Ms Mitchell said she and the two men met in high school - and Mr?Kahukiwa, who lived just 負かす/撃墜する the road from the couple, was の近くに to them.

But Mr Kahukiwa was 内密に 取り組むing a mental illness after the deaths of his two unborn children took a (死傷者)数 on his life.?

The two men decided to go for a 運動 one evening after Mr Kahukiwa broke 負かす/撃墜する in 涙/ほころびs when he showed up at their doorstep in Werribee.

As Mr Mitchell tried to stop Mr Kahukiwa jumping in 前線 of the city-bound Laverton train, their pair were struck, about 300 metres from the car just before midnight.

'After having children of my own, I can understand the place he was in,' Ms Mitchell told Daily Mail Australia.

'Jason was の近くにd to me. I could never be mad at him because I don't know how I would have 対処するd if it happened to me.

A tearful Ms Mitchell said she hopes by speaking out about her story, she could encourage others 苦しむing from mental illness to 捜し出す professional help.

'I wish people would talk about 不景気 more and 捜し出す professional help before it's too late,' she said.

'非,不,無 of us knew the stigma around male needing help. We think men are supposed to be strong but everyone has feelings.

'I think there could've been a different 結果 if Jason sought help earlier. Hopefully by 株ing my story, I could help one person stop another family from going through this.

'Given what happened made me proud and heartbroken at the same time.'
