50,000 may be alone this Christmas

Up to 50,000 people could be eating a Meals-on-Wheels Christmas dinner alone this year, 人物／姿／数字s 得るd by the 自由主義の 民主党員s 示唆するd today.

The party 勧めるd everyone to pop in to visit anyone they knew was spending the festive period on their own, after 集会 the data from 地元の 会議s.

More than 13,000 meals are 予定 to be 配達するd to 選び出す／独身-person 世帯s by English and Welsh 会議s which 答える／応じるd to a 調査する - more than a ４半期/4分の1 of 地元の 当局.

That 示唆するs that the number across the country could be as high as 50,000.

地元の 政府 広報担当者 Andrew Stunell said: "Thousands of 年輩の people will be tucking into their Meals-on-Wheels Christmas dinner alone this Christmas.

"Feeling 孤立するd and lonely at this time of year can be 特に hard when everyone around you seems to be having fun.

"I am 勧めるing people to use their time to help 減ずる loneliness in their community this Christmas.

"You could get in touch with an older friend, 親族 or 隣人 who might be alone, go 一連の会議、交渉／完成する for a mince pie and a 雑談（する）, or 招待する them

to Christmas dinner."
