For Karen Edwards, it was the final 侮辱 to the memory of her daughter Becky.

For two weeks, she had watched Christopher Halliwell, a 'calculated and devious' minicab driver, 嘘（をつく） as he tried to defend himself in 法廷，裁判所 over the 殺人 of her youngest child ? and heard in harrowing 詳細（に述べる） how her 団体／死体 was dismembered.

Then, when Halliwell was 設立する 有罪の of the 残虐な 殺人, he could not resist smirking in the ドッキングする／減らす／ドックに入れる.?Yet Karen, who has spent the past five years 戦う／戦いing for 司法（官） for her daughter, has 確固に 辞退するd to be cowed by her 殺し屋.

Last year she 排他的に 明らかにする／漏らすd to The Mail on Sunday 説得力のある new 証拠 to 示唆する that Halliwell is 責任がある the deaths of at least four other women, 含むing Claudia Lawrence, the chef from York who went 行方不明の in 2009. Ms Lawrence's 団体／死体 has never been 設立する.

'He is definitely a serial 殺し屋,' says Karen, 55, with 絶対の 有罪の判決. 'I believe he has been up and 負かす／撃墜する the country 殺人ing young women.

'He used to be a groundworker up north ? I know somebody who worked with him on the same building 場所／位置. He would go and have a pint with the lads and then disappear.

'Se rial 殺し屋s are usually 誘発する／引き起こすd by dates. That was the day that Halliwell broke up with one of his partners. Halliwell was familiar with York ? his father lived in Huddersfield ? and the description of Claudia's 殺害者 is 同一の to him ? a left-手渡すd smoker, 5ft 8-10in, with わずかに receding hair and a skinny build.

'Claudia was 報告（する）／憶測d 行方不明の from her home on March 19, 2009 ? 正確に／まさに two years to the day before Sian. It is also the same date that a woman called Linda Razzell disappeared.'

For Karen, this search for the truth has become something of a vocation.

Sitting in a hotel where she had been staying to be の近くに to the 法廷，裁判所, it is （疑いを）晴らす that this immaculately dressed woman who was 賞賛するd by the 裁判官 for her dignity, now has an impressive knowledge of 犯罪の 法律 and a keen understanding of the さまざまな 手続きs by which Halliwell is 推定する／予想するd to 控訴，上告 against his life 宣告，判決.

He 主張するd on defending himself in 法廷，裁判所 during the 裁判，公判, 製図／抽選 平行のs with the 事例／患者 of Ted Bundy, the American serial 殺し屋 who 殺人d more than 30 people.

Karen is 静める and pragmatic but her dreadful ordeal ? 'an 極端に painful 旅行' ? has left an indelible 示す.

It began on Thursday, March 24, 2011, when she saw on TV that 殺人 squad 探偵，刑事s were digging up a field in the Cotswold village of Eastleach.?

Police had discovered the 団体／死体 of Sian O'Callaghan, a 22-year-old from Swindon who went 行方不明の after leaving a nightclub, and were looking for the remains of another woman.

For nine years, Karen had prayed her youngest child, a 極度の慎重さを要する and troubled woman who had run away from home after descending into a nightmare world of 麻薬s and 売春, would walk through the door of the family's £500,000 rambling farmhouse on the 郊外s of Swindon.

But the day after Mothering Sunday, a day which should have been Becky's 29th birthday and 11 days after Karen saw the news on television, police 確認するd her worst 恐れるs: they had 設立する the remains of her beloved daughter.?

Karen, who lives with her second husband Charlie, a 豊富な 実業家, and has a son Steven, 37, says: 'I had a gut feeling it was Becky. Call it mother's instinct. She had been 行方不明の too long.

'I will never forget that day. I had spent the morning helping Steven decorate his new home. We were laughing and joking because I was wearing pink wellies and a tracksuit. We went 支援する home at lunchtime to put the kettle on and from then on my life as I knew it changed.'

That day, five years ago, 示すd the end of years of hope for Karen, who had watched in agony as her 壊れやすい 4ft 11in daughter, who had size three feet and wore children's 着せる／賦与するs, spiralled from self-害（を与える）ing to smoking ヘロイン, an 中毒 that saw her selling her 団体／死体 for her next 攻撃する，衝突する. It was a lifestyle for which Karen, coming from a warm and loving background, was unprepared.

Karen believes that 同様に as Claudia Lawrence, Halliwell may have killed 23-year-old 売春婦 Sally Ann John, who was 分類するd as a 行方不明の person in 1995.

'She was a Swindon girl and knew him 井戸／弁護士席,' she says. 'She used to live in the same street as Halliwell, baby-sit his kids and take his taxis.' She also thinks that he was 伴う／関わるd in the 殺人 of Melanie Hall, who disappeared from a Bath nightclub the に引き続いて year. 'She was taken by an unmarked taxi,' 追加するs Karen. 'Halliwell was besotted with Linda,' says Karen. 'He first met her in 1998 when he dug the 地盤s on her 所有物／資産／財産 and used to stalk her. He used to sit in his taxi and watch her walk to work through an alleyway ? they later 設立する her 動きやすい phone there. He even used to sketch pictures of her.'

And 同様に as believing Halliwell has killed other women, she also has good grounds to believe that he has 強姦d and beaten many more.

'During my （選挙などの）運動をするing, I 暴露するd 非常に／多数の stories which I passed on to the police of girls who had lucky escapes in the 支援する of his taxi. He drove one girl who got into his taxi, to a wooded area, whic h terrified her and she 叫び声をあげるd. It was only after he was 乱すd that he drove her 支援する to Swindon.

Speaking just hours after he was 宣告，判決d to life, she said: 'It has been a hard （選挙などの）運動をする to get 司法（官） for Becky. When we finally got to 法廷，裁判所, I had to sit and listen to things no parent should ever have to hear.

'I never knew that Becky hung around on street corners or realised how long she had been selling her 団体／死体. I didn't know, until I saw the graphics in 法廷，裁判所, how little of her remains we buried. I felt sick to the stomach 審理，公聴会 that her 長，率いる and 武器 were 行方不明の.

'I also had to watch Halliwell try and defend himself against the indefensible. When he was 設立する 有罪の, he smirked. But he is not smirking now. We are finally having the last laugh. Now I can change her death 証明書 to say she was strangled ? and I can put the date of her 殺人 on her headstone.

'Finally, I will not 残り／休憩（する） until I have （疑いを）晴らすd Steve Fulcher's 指名する.'

The next fight is for the families of other 行方不明の women, whose 団体／死体s may 嘘（をつく） in shallow, unmarked 墓／厳粛／彫る／重大なs. 'Halliwell 代表するd himself like Ted Bundy and I only hope that if he killed as many people as Bundy, we find out sooner rather than later.'
