ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ABTA DATA HACK

What has happened?

Abta recently became aware of unauthorised 接近 to the abta.com web server by an 外部の infiltrator. This was possible 予定 to a system vulnerability that the infiltrator 偉業／利用するd to 接近 some data 供給するd by some 顧客s of Abta members and by ABTA members themselves.

On 即座の 調査, Abta identified that although its own IT systems remained 安全な・保証する, there was a vulnerability to the web server for abta.com, which is managed for Abta through a third-party web developer and hosting company.

This means that some documentation uploaded to the website by Abta members, 同様に as some （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） 供給するd by 顧客s of Abta members in support of their （民事の）告訴, may have been 接近d.?

  • The 大多数 of the data 関係のある to email 演説（する）／住所s and passwords for any member or 顧客 that had 登録（する）d on abta.com. These passwords were encrypted ? which means to the human 注目する，もくろむ it will look like a jumble of characters ? and so there is a very low （危険などに）さらす 危険 of 身元 窃盗 or online 詐欺; however as a 予防の 手段 it is recommended to change their passwords.

  • A smaller 容積／容量 of data uploaded 経由で the website by members of the pub lic who had submitted documentation to support a （民事の）告訴 since 11 January 2017.
  • A smaller 容積／容量 of data uploaded 経由で the website by members using the ‘self-service’ 施設 on abta.com, where they have uploaded documentation in support of their 会員の地位. The vulnerability that was 偉業／利用するd by the infiltrator only enabled 接近 to uploaded supporting documentation, and did not 影響する／感情 other IT systems or forms that had been 完全にするd online.

What is Abta doing about the 出来事/事件??

Abta member companies - what should you do??

If you are an Abta member who has 登録（する）d on abta.com, whilst your password was encrypted and you are therefore at a very low 危険 of 身元 窃盗 or online 詐欺, as a 予防の 手段 you should すぐに change your password and, if you use this password or any variation of it for other accounts, change those too.

If you are a member who has used ABTA’s online self-service 施設 to upload supporting documentation relating to your 会員の地位, data may have been 接近d.?

You should remain vigilant regarding online and 身元 詐欺: 活発に 監視する your bank accounts and any social マスコミ and email accounts you may have.?

If you have uploaded documentation on abta.com in relation to a （民事の）告訴 about a member, since January 11, 2017, this documentation may have been 接近d. Or, if you 供給するd 接触する 詳細（に述べる）s to 登録（する） a （民事の）告訴 about a member, this data may have been 接近d.
