When a 95-year-old 大破壊／大虐殺 生存者 was looking for a suitable roommate, no one would have guessed the best fit would be the 31-year-old granddaughter of Nazi 兵士s.

But when Charlene 厳しい called up Professor Naomi Siedman at Berkeley, California's 卒業生（する） Theological Union to help her find the 権利 match for her father Ben 厳しい, that's 正確に／まさに who she was put in touch with.?

At first, Heitfeld only told Ben 厳しい that her grandfather was a 兵士. Later, she opened up about the members of her family who her parents kept at bay most of her life.?

'My grandmother, whom I met three times, would say things like, "The war was the greatest time in my life because I was in the 部隊 of the German girls,"' Heitfeld said.

Charlene 厳しい channeled her curiosity for her father's experiences into 令状ing, producing and directing the 30-minute short film, 近づく Normal Man, which chronicles Ben's experiences through the 大破壊／大虐殺 and the 1978 demonstration by the 国家の 社会主義者 Party of America in Skokie, Illinois.

'存在 in Auschwitz and coming out of Auschwitz, you cannot be normal,' Ben 厳しい said.?

'God created angels, and in between, he created 生存者s. It’s a losing 戦う／戦い and a winning 戦う／戦い. When I 株 it with other people, I’m winning… I can laugh and cry at the same time.'

Heitfeld, who has seen the movie 'four or five times,' said each 見解（をとる）ing leaves her 'speechless.'??

'Growing up in Germany, it was always facts and numbers. And getting to know th is personal story, I feel like I understand more,'she said.?

The march did happen on June 25, 1978, as can be seen in Nearly Normal Man, but was 限られた／立憲的な to about 20 Neo-Nazis, who were 溺死するd out by 反対する デモ参加者／実演宣伝者s, Ben 厳しい 含むd, both in Skokie and other cities around the country.
