地震 shakes Scottish town

A Scottish town was today shaken by an 地震 手段ing 2.9 on the Richter 規模.

The （軽い）地震 in Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway, lasted a few seconds and no one was 負傷させるd.

Bennett Simpson, 地震学者 at the British 地質学の 調査する in Edinburgh, said the that the 地震 occurred at 9.27am.

Mr Simpson said: 'A large number of people in Dumfries felt this and we received 報告（する）／憶測s of people （人命などを）奪う，主張するing their houses shook and of some 居住（者）s running out into their 支援する gardens.

'There are around 200 to 250 地震s in the UK every year so this is not an unusual occurrence, and of these about 30 are felt.'

To illustrate the 規模 of the （軽い）地震, he 追加するd: 'The energy 生成するd by the Dumfries 地震 is 30 million times smaller than that 抑えるのをやめるd by the 地震 in India in January.'

Mr Simpson said that was the largest （軽い）地震 in the Dumfries area since 1984 when there was an 地震 手段ing 2.7.

There have been 40 地震s within 10km of today's epicentre in the last 30 years.

Dumfries and Galloway Police received over 100 calls from 関心d members of the public.

A police spokeswoman said: 'We had some 報告（する）／憶測s about 予定するs coming off roofs, but 全体にわたる their was 極小の 損失 and no one was 負傷させるd.'
