Yesterday's 報告(する)/憶測 on British education from the 独立した・無所属 think-戦車/タンク Civitas 代表するs a 派遣(する) from the 戦場 述べるing a 国家の 大災害.

It is no surprise that pupils learn so little, say its authors, because so much curriculum time has been ハイジャック(する)d for the peddling of 宣伝 about 人種差別主義, gender 認識/意識性, environmentalism and suchlike.

The High Master of St Paul's, an 優れた 独立した・無所属 school, 警告するs of the "terrifying absence of proper science" in the new GCSE syllabus, which is all that a modern 世代 of 16-year-olds is みなすd 有能な of learning -and all, indeed, that their teachers are thought 有能な of teaching.

Pupil taking exam

十代の少年少女s 追求するing GCSE history are 招待するd to 熟考する/考慮する the 9/11 attacks using Arab マスコミ and Osama 貯蔵所 Laden's speeches as source 構成要素, without balancing American input. One exam board has produced a 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる) of modern poems for the English course in which no English or Welsh writer is 代表するd.

During a 最近の training day for English A-level teachers, a 上級の examiner 主張するd that it is necessary to "乱打する out of students" the idea that there is any "訂正する" way of speaking English.

This shameful stuff 現れるs in the same week that the General Teaching 会議 calls for all exams for under-16s to be 廃止するd, because they 課す "過度の 強調する/ストレス" on pupils.

In the adult world, the 湾 between educated and uneducated people is 広げるing relentlessly.

As unskilled 職業s are outsourced to Asia, the 未来 grows ever bleaker fo r children of any 国籍 who 欠如(する) meaningful 資格s.

Yet not only are pupils learning いっそう少なく than they did a 世代 ago, the 教育の 設立 is also committed to 原則s, 堅固に守るd behind a 広大な/多数の/重要な wire entanglement of demented ideals, which 確実にする that things will get worse.

It is not enough to 非難する 大臣s. 連続する Tory 政府s under Thatcher and Major were no more successful than has been Blair in 敗北・負かすing the social engineers who 支配する teacher training colleges and education departments, even when their egalitarian 見通し has been discredited almost everywhere else in the world.

Every parent knows what "proper education" is about. It is 設立するd on discipline, a realisation that learning is hard and 要求するs doing unwelcome things.

Whether or not entire schools are selective, streaming by ability is 必須の. Acquiring knowledge means 吸収するing boring facts.

Children should learn some poetry by rote. They need historical dates and facts to give 状況 to the centuries. They must be 実験(する)d partly to 刺激する aspiration, partly to grow accustomed to the fact that adult life will 伴う/関わる 強調する/ストレス. To help 勝利者s learn how to 勝利,勝つ, there must be losers.

We need to teach children not whatever whimsical trivia they fancy learning, but real 技術s that are useable and saleable in the modern marketplace.

To almost all of us in the real world, such things are simple ありふれた sense. Yet all of them are 論争d, indeed 否定するd, by much of the teaching profession and those who 形態/調整 明言する/公表する school 政策.

For more than 40 years, they have sought systematically to lower every 障害物 to a 高さ at which it can be jumped by the slowest 競争相手.

They 否定する 勝利者s laurels - and I 令状 as one who never won a school prize - lest losers 苦しむ 苦痛. They are much いっそう少なく 利益/興味d in purveying (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) than in 形態/調整ing the social and political 態度s of those ゆだねる d to their care in 一致 with their own prejudices.

The Blair 政府 has been even いっそう少なく successful than the Tories in undoing these 罪,犯罪s, for 罪,犯罪s they surely are. Its 返答 to 悲惨な exam results is to make 実験(する)s easier. If pupils 証明する incapable of producing grades which 会合,会う 政府 的s, those grades are inflated.

As 明言する/公表する school pupils 証明する ever いっそう少なく 有能な of competing with 独立した・無所属 school 競争相手s for その上の education places, the 政府 いじめ(る)s universities into ever more 露骨な/あからさまの 差別 against those who 所有する the shocking "class advantage" of having been 適切に taught.

We have created an 教育の system geared to 保護物,者ing the least gifted from 失敗, rather than enabling the ablest or even the 普通の/平均(する) to blossom.

It 反抗するs belief that teachers are calling for exams to be scrapped. This is a betrayal of all that education is 適切に about, because it 代表するs an 試みる/企てる to delude children about their own 条件.

A 残虐な shock を待つs anyone whose first exams are nearinfantile GCSEs. They will leave school with glittering grades only to discover that they 欠如(する) even the basic literacy and numeracy 技術s to compete with their European or Asian 同時代のs.

Since the 1960s, when 労働's Anthony Crosland and Shirley Williams 開始する,打ち上げるd their fanatical 強襲,強姦 on grammar schools, 基準s have 拒絶する/低下するd relentlessly.

The educationalists have バリケードd themselves in 要塞s of complacency and falsehood which neither 政府s nor public opinion have been able to 嵐/襲撃する.

Science has become the almost 排除的 特権 of rich children in 独立した・無所属 schools. The dwindling number of 明言する/公表する school pupils who take the 支配する find classes 充てるd to discussions on the 倫理学 of abortion, rather than 研究室/実験室 work.

"Relevance" and "accessibility" are the pernicious buzzwords by which examiners 決定する which poets are 熟考する/考慮するd, wha t history taught. Foreign languages are in 法外な 拒絶する/低下する because pupils find them too 需要・要求するing.

The people who have created and continue to 促進する this culture seem far more deserving of pariah status in our society than any 人種差別主義者 or sexist bigot, because they do so much more 害(を与える).

University lecturers today 需要・要求する a ボイコット(する) of イスラエル because it 抑圧するs the Palestinians. Yet these same ringmasters of intolerance 統括する over an 教育の system の近くに to 崩壊(する) not for 欠如(する) of cash, but for 欠如(する) of sanity.

Educationalists cannot be held 責任がある the feral children of the inner cities or the 抱擁する problems created by 集まり 移民/移住.

But they are the betrayers of a host of British children from decent homes, with parents committed to 伝統的な values, who want to learn but are 否定するd the chance.

The 教育の 設立 is beyond shame. Its 返答 to the ever-広げるing 湾 between the 業績/成果 of 明言する/公表する and 独立した・無所属 schools is to 需要・要求する that feepaying schools should lose their charitable status - yet another 試みる/企てる to level 負かす/撃墜する.

The Department of Education and the policymakers have created a 統治する of terror. Parents are so fearful of the consequences of committing their children to one of the host of unlearning 会・原則s, as we should call them, that they go to any lengths to escape them - moving house, or mortgaging their 未来s into old age.

The Civitas 報告(する)/憶測 is not shocking, because we already know too much to be surprised. But it 文書s a 失敗 that will blight the lives of a 世代. 労働 大臣s have created a 広大な/多数の/重要な 行う/開催する/段階 始める,決める of pretence to 隠す the truth, yet now it is laid 明らかにする.

Across Britain, much of what passes for education is no more than a 巨大(な) computer game, designed to amuse and コースを変える children through the hours they pass in class.

伝統的な learning, together with the aspiration to excellence, is 存在 systematically 粛清するd.

< /p>

The educationalists have committed a form of child 乱用 all the more pernicious because, though tried and 罪人/有罪を宣告するd on the 証拠 of their 活動/戦闘s, they will never 直面する a 法廷,裁判所.

Until they can be 敗北・負かすd and expelled from 当局 and 影響(力) over British schools, our children will never begin to learn the things which are 不可欠の to 会員の地位 of an educated society.
