At least four new 原子炉s 'in 10 years' as 政府 embraces the 核の 選択

商売／仕事 長官 John Hutton told MPs that he was 招待するing 企て，努力，提案s from energy companies to build a new 世代 of 核の 力／強力にする 駅／配置するs, which he 主張するd were "tried and 実験（する）d, 安全な and 安全な・保証する".

Mr Hutton said he hoped to first 原子炉 would be built "井戸／弁護士席 before" 2020 - but critics 疑問 that any will really be built without more taxpayer-基金d incentives for 力／強力にする 会社／堅いs and tougher 刑罰，罰則s on coal and gas 解雇する／砲火／射撃d 駅／配置するs, which 放出する 温室 gases.

However, French 核の 力／強力にする 巨大（な） EDF said yesterday it would 服従させる／提出する 計画（する）s to build four 原子炉s by 2017, and British 核の 会社／堅い Westinghouse also 表明するd an 利益／興味.

選挙運動者s 警告する that 必然的に, 消費者s will have to 耐える most of the 抱擁する cost of 配置する／処分する／したい気持ちにさせるing of 核の waste.

Mr Hutton said: "Giving the go-ahead that 核の 力／強力にする should play a 役割 in 供給するing the UK with clean, 安全な・保証する and affordable energy is in our country's 決定的な long-称する，呼ぶ／期間／用語 利益／興味.

"始める，決める against the challenged of 気候 change and 安全 of 供給（する）, the 証拠 in support of new 核の 力／強力にする 駅／配置するs is 説得力のある. We should 前向きに／確かに embrace the 適切な時期 of 配達するing this important part of our energy 政策.

"I therefore 招待する energy companies to bring 今後 計画（する）s to build and operate new 核の 力／強力にする 駅／配置するs.

"With a third of our 生成するing capacity coming offline within the next 20 years and 増加するing 依存 on 輸入するd energy it is （疑いを）晴らす we need 投資 in a 範囲 of new energy 組織／基盤／下部構造."

Mr Hutton did not 示す where the new 原子炉s would be 場所／位置d, 約束ing a review of 選択s to be published by 2009.

But he said new 原子炉s are most likely to be built on 存在するing 核の 場所／位置s, which are 始める，決める to be 閉鎖するd within the next couple of １０年間s.

A 報告（する）／憶測 for 大臣s had already identified Hinkley Point, Sizewell, Dungeness and Bradwell, all 場所／位置s of 存在するing 工場／植物s, as the most suitable places for new 核の 駅／配置するs.

The 政府 will also not 始める，決める any lower or upper 限界 on the number of 核の 工場／植物s it wants built.

He 約束d 法律制定 to 保護する taxpayers from the cost of 閉鎖するing 核の waste. The 財務省 would be able to 介入する if 核の companies did not 始める，決める aside 基金s to 支払う／賃金 their 株.

But Greenpeace says 消費者s will have to 支払う／賃金 much of the cost of 閉鎖するing because energy 発生させる人（物）s will pass much of it on through 法案s.

The 核の 閉鎖するing 当局 has said the cost of a clean up will be £72 billion over 20 years - up from an 見積（る） just two years ago of £56 billion.

Greenpeace say that on 最高の，を越す of this, there is the £21 billion cost of 建設するing new waste 捨てるs, and the £30 billion cost of building new 核の 力／強力にする 駅／配置するs.

This 追加するs up to £123 billion, which 作品 out as a cost of £246 every year for each of the country's 25 million 世帯s.

However, any 増加する in energy 法案s depends on how much of the total cost is passed on to 消費者s.

"N uclear is yesterday's 科学（工学）技術 and this 政策 makes Brown look like yesterday's man. It's an enormous mistake that will whack people in the wallet without any 利益s.

"核の 力／強力にする won't 取り組む 気候 change, it won't 取り組む the ぼんやり現れるing energy gap, it won't 取り組む our dependence on oil and gas, but it will clobber every 世帯 for hundreds of 続けざまに猛撃するs every year."

The 保守的なs swung behind the 政府 on 核の 力／強力にする, after having 以前 説 it should only be considered "as a last 訴える手段／行楽地".

The party's energy 広報担当者 Alan Duncan:"炭素 放出／発行s are changing our 気候, we are 支払う／賃金ing 100 dollars for oil, and we are 直面するing a （疑いを）晴らす and 大規模な energy 不足（高）.

"It is our 義務 to 始める，決める aside political scrapping so as to make sure we do what's 権利 for our country."

He said a 未来 Tory 政府 would stand by any 核の company's building 計画（する）s, but 需要・要求するd there be no 補助金 from 政府. The party points out that no 核の 力／強力にする 駅／配置する in the world had been built without 補助金s.

The 自由主義の 民主党員s are …に反対するd to 核の 力／強力にする. They are supported by a number of 労働 backbenchers led by former 環境 長官 Michael Meacher.

Lib Dem 環境 広報担当者 Steve Webb said: "This is a 欠陥d 決定／判定勝ち（する） based on a sham 協議 - we all know that 大臣s made their minds up long ago.

"The 政府 has 効果的に locked us into 核の 力／強力にする for the best part of a century. John Hutton was not able to give a cast アイロンをかける 保証（人） that taxpayers will not have to subsidise the costs of 核の in the 未来."

A 広報担当者 for 核の company EDF told BBC 無線で通信する's World at One programme that it was planning four new 駅／配置するs by the end of 2017 - and it would not be asking for 政府 補助金s.

A 広報担当者 for the Department for 商売／仕事, 企業 and Regulatory 改革（する） said: "We do not believe the cost will be passed on to 消費者s because 核の is a 比較して small part of the energy mix and will no t massively 影響する／感情 energy prices. We don't 受託する it will happen."
