BBC in race 列/漕ぐ/騒動 after BNP leader 非難するs イスラム教徒s for Britain's 麻薬 problems

The BBC was last night dragged into a race 列/漕ぐ/騒動 after it broadcast (人命などを)奪う,主張するs by the British 国家の Party 非難するing イスラム教徒 移民,移住(する)s for the country's hard 麻薬s problems.

The comments were made during a 審議 on multiculturalism on BBC2's Newsnight, which 診察するd the results of a 調査する for the channel's White season - a 一連の 文書のs on what it means to be white and working class in Britain today.

It 設立する that white working class are far more 悲観的な about Britain's 未来 than their middle-class 相当するものs, while more than half said no one 代表するd their 見解(をとる)s and that their 質 of life had got worse over the past 10年間.

When 知らせるd the 投票 showed that white working class Britons were more 関心d about 麻薬 and drink culture than 移民/移住, the BNP leader Nick Griffin 答える/応じるd with an attack on Pakistani 移民,移住(する)s.

He said: "You can't かもしれない separate the hard 麻薬s 貿易(する) from the question of Islam and 特に Pakistani 移民/移住.

"Any working class area of Britain - in a multiracial area - the hard 麻薬s problem is 関係のある to Islam and Pakistan."

Interviewer Kirsty Wark 答える/応じるd: "I think there's a number of people that would 論争 that."

Griffin went on to 繰り返し言う that mixing cultures is not a good thing, 説:

"I would say that people who want to 減ずる the world to a mono-culture coffee-coloured world, they are the ones who hate."

A panellist on the show すぐに criticised the 決定/判定勝ち(する) to show the clip, branding the 決定/判定勝ち(する) 'pathetic'.

Talk show host and columnist Jon Gaunt last night said: "Putting on somebody like that knuckle-dragger. I don't really understand the point.

"He doesn't 代表する me and doesn't 代表する most working class people. He's not a working class guy himself, and the foul things he was coming out with there about the 麻薬s and Islam and the 残り/休憩(する) if it, and the nonsense about coffee culture just makes me want to puke."

He 追加するd: "The BBC probably put him on to make out again that all white working class people are 国粋主義者/ファシスト党員s. I'm 高度に 怪しげな.

"Why did you interview Nick Griffin on this 審議? It's pathetic."

The BBC today 問題/発行するd a 声明 which defended its choice of Nick Griffin as a 関係者 in the 審議.

It said: "The 見解(をとる)s 表明するd were his as leader of the BNP and he was robustly questioned and challenged on his comments throughout the interview.

"Newsnight does not 禁止(する) any group from taking part in 審議 as long as they are operating within the 法律.

"The programme has a 評判 for 堅い and challenging interviews and within the 状況 of the 審議 it was 関連した to hear from the leader of the BNP.

"He was one of a number of people 審議ing the 問題/発行するs on the programme."
