What part DID the 著名な woman psychologist who says sex 攻撃者s 'aren't all monsters' play in the 解放(する) of 黒人/ボイコット cab rapist John Worboys?
- Dr Craissati is 称讃するd as one of country’s most 著名な 法廷の psychologists?
- She is understood to have submitted 専門家 opinion on Worboys to 仮釈放(する) Board
- It heard his successful 使用/適用 to be 解放する/自由なd after いっそう少なく than 10 years in 刑務所,拘置所
Dr Jackie Craissati is 予定 to give a lecture at the University of London’s Goldsmiths campus next week, an event that has been 広範囲にわたって publicised and 熱望して 心配するd.
Dr Craissati is 称讃するd as one of the country’s most 著名な 法廷の psychologists. With three 調書をとる/予約するs and more than 40 出版(物)s under her belt in a career spanning 30 years, she was awarded the MBE for services to mental health in 2013.
This is not the 推論する/理由, though, why the Goldsmiths auditorium is likely to be packed; it surely has more to do with the 議論の的になる 支配する 事柄 of Dr Craissati’s talk, provocatively する権利を与えるd: ‘Ten Myths About Sex 違反者/犯罪者s.’

Dr Jackie Craissati is 称讃するd as one of the country’s most 著名な 法廷の psychologists
We do not have a transcript of what she is planning to say. But, 裁判官ing by her 井戸/弁護士席-文書d 見解(をとる)s in this field, it’s not hard to 予報する what at least one of those いわゆる ‘myths’ might be.
It is this: that sex 違反者/犯罪者s are too often labelled ‘monstrous’ individuals which, Dr Craissati argues, is ‘極端に simplistic’.
Sex 違反者/犯罪者s like John Worboys, for example, the 黒人/ボイコット cab rapist who was 罪人/有罪を宣告するd of 麻薬 ging and sexually 強襲,強姦ing 12 women in the 支援する of his taxi, but who police 嫌疑者,容疑者/疑う was 責任がある many more attacks on 得点する/非難する/20s of young 女性(の) 乗客s in London.
Does she not believe that he is a ‘monstrous individual’?
Dr Craissati is 確かな to 直面する such a question from the audience at Goldsmiths ― because this week she was 指名するd as the author of a 報告(する)/憶測 that 与える/捧げるd to his 切迫した 解放(する).

黒人/ボイコット cab rapist John Worboys, 60, (pictured in a police mugshot) could still 提起する/ポーズをとる a 危険 to the public, the chairman of the 仮釈放(する) Board has 認める
She is understood to have submitted 専門家 opinion on Worboys to the 仮釈放(する) Board, which heard his successful 使用/適用 to be 解放する/自由なd after いっそう少なく than a 10年間 behind 妨げる/法廷,弁護士業s.
The 決定/判定勝ち(する) has been roundly 非難するd by 政治家,政治屋s from all parties 同様に as by Worboys’ 犠牲者s, who were not 知らせるd his 仮釈放(する) had been 認可するd.
Worboys, 60, の中で Britain’s most prolific and 悪名高い 性の predators, was given an indeterminate 宣告,判決 with a 最小限 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語 of eight years in 2009.
にもかかわらず, he will be 支援する on the streets at the end of the month after the 政府 発表するd yesterday that it will not challenge the 決定/判定勝ち(する) in a judicial review.
Dr Craissati, 5 7, was not, of course, 単独で 責任がある the 推薦 to 解放する/自由な Worboys.
The three-strong 仮釈放(する) Board パネル盤 heard 証拠 from nine ‘live’ 証言,証人/目撃するs (含むing fellow psychologists and 刑務所,拘置所 and 保護監察 staff) and 否定する 告訴,告発s that they were ‘極端に 影響(力)d by one individual’s 証拠’.
The 身元 of these 証言,証人/目撃するs, and their 証言s, is 保護するd by strict 仮釈放(する) Board 手続きs.
Dr Craissati’s 申し立てられた/疑わしい 役割 in this 過程 is believed to have been 漏れるd by 刑務所,拘置所 sources …に反対するd to Worboys’s 解放(する).
The 発覚 has fuelled the 論争. Dr Craissati’s 団体/死体 of work ― 非難するing, for example, the ‘過度の 強調’ on ‘刑罰の 支配(する)/統制するs’ on sex 違反者/犯罪者s for ‘増加するing an 違反者/犯罪者’s emotional 不安定’ ― has left her open to 告訴,告発s that she, and others in the 伝統的に 自由主義の world of psychology and psychiatry, too often favour leniency for sex 違反者/犯罪者s, something she 否定するs.
The Worboys 事例/患者, say critics, epitomises the ‘soft 司法(官)’ culture for such individuals.
The question many would ask members of the 仮釈放(する) Board, however, is this: would they be happy for their wives or daughters to get into a car with Worboys when he leaves 刑務所,拘置所?
Dr Craissati is an 公式の/役人 助言者 to the 仮釈放(する) Board and sits on its review 委員会, which 診察するs 事例/患者s where former 囚人s have committed serious その上の offences within three years of 解放(する).
She has 広範囲にわたる experience of working with high-危険 sex 違反者/犯罪者s and runs a (not-for-利益(をあげる)) company ― Psychological Approaches ― ‘申し込む/申し出ing consultancy and training to those working with コンビナート/複合体 mental health and 感情を害する/違反するing behaviour’.

Worboys (pictured 存在 led into Sutton 治安判事s 法廷,裁判所 in 2009) was 刑務所,拘置所d 無期限に/不明確に, with the 裁判官 setting a 最小限 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語 of eight years
‘重要な 業績/成就s’ are 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる)d in her profile on the company website. These 含む 議長,司会を務めるing a 国際借款団/連合 of four mental health 信用s to ‘配達する innovative personality disorder services across London . . . in 共同 with the 刑務所,拘置所 and 保護監察 service’.
‘Jackie is very experienced and 高度に 率d by other psychologists,’ said a 同僚.
Even so, there is one 入ること/参加(者) on Dr Craissati’s impressive CV that has escaped scrutiny in the wake of the Worboys 熱狂的興奮状態. It is her 関与 in the Nicola Edgington スキャンダル.
Edgington’s 指名する may have faded from the public’s memory but not the 残虐な nature of her 罪,犯罪s.
Edgington was 拘留するd 無期限に/不明確に (like Worboys) under the Mental Health 行為/法令/行動する for stabbing her mother nine times at her home in East Grinstead, West Sussex, in 2005. She was placed at the Bracton Centre in Dartford, Kent, a ‘medium 安全な・保証する’ 部隊 run by Oxleas NHS 創立/基礎 信用. Edgington was みなすd fit for 発射する/解雇する after three years and 解放(する)d in 2009.
In 2011, Edgington, 武装した with a stolen butcher’s cleaver, 事実上 decapitated Sally Hodkin, 58, an innocent grandmother on her way to work in Bexleyheath, in South-East London.
Sally was 簡単に in the wrong place at the wrong time. Last year, a damning 報告(する)/憶測 into Mrs Hodkin’s death, (売買)手数料,委託(する)/委員会/権限d by NHS England, 設立する that staff at the Bracton Centre were too willing to 受託する Edgington’s 見解/翻訳/版 of events and failed to take 本気で 警告s made by Edgington’s own brother and sister that she was still unwell and 潜在的に dangerous.
文書s sent to the 省 of 司法(官) did not 詳細(に述べる) 関心s about her beh aviour. Mrs Hodkin’s family 受託するd an 示談 from the Oxleas NHS 信用. What has any of this to do with Dr Craissati?
Dr Craissati has worked at the Bracton Centre since 1988, によれば the minutes of a board 会合 of the Oxleas NHS 信用, and was 臨床の director between 2010 and 2016 before leaving to 始める,決める up her Psychological Approaches company.
When 接触するd this week, Dr Craissati 強調する/ストレスd she ‘was in no way 伴う/関わるd in the 査定/評価 of 危険 of the particular individual (Nicola Edgington), nor was I 伴う/関わるd in the 決定/判定勝ち(する) to 解放(する) her’ [in 2009]. She said she was not 臨床の director at the time.
But she was 巻き込むd in the 論争, nonetheless. Dr Craissati was 指名するd, we have learned, in a 高度に 批判的な 2012 報告(する)/憶測 into the 殺人 of Mrs Hodkin ― for which Edgington received a life 宣告,判決 ― by the 独立した・無所属 Police (民事の)告訴s (売買)手数料,委託(する)/委員会/権限 (IPCC).
Edgington, having been 裁判官d 井戸/弁護士席 enough to leave the Bracton Centre, was moved to a house run by a 会議-基金d charity in Greenwich, South-East London, under the 監督 of a mental health team. She was 存在 用意が出来ている to live unsupported in the community when she attacked Mrs Hodkin.
Police in Greenwich, however, were not 通知するd of this fact as they should have been.
The staff member at Bracton who should have passed on the (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) was Dr Craissati. She was then 長,率いる of psychology at the Bracton Centre, によれば the minutes of the same board 会合 of the Oxleas NHS 信用 について言及するd earlier.
Dr Craissati was interviewed by 捜査官/調査官s from the IPCC. She said ‘she should have 通知するd’ Greenwich police, but it was ‘possible that she omitted to 今後 this (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状)’.
But the 報告(する)/憶測 goes on to say that ‘the 証拠 also shows that Ni cola Edgington’s 法廷の social 労働者 did email an electronic referral form to Dr Craissati which should have been 今後d to Greenwich police. She has 受託するd that she believes she omitted to send the form.’

司法(官) 長官 David Gauke (pictured arriving at No10 on January 16) has asked for 合法的な advice on whether the 決定/判定勝ち(する) to 解放する/自由な one of Britain's most 悪名高い sex 違反者/犯罪者s can be contested in a judicial review
Her 明らかな 失敗 to do so did not 影響する/感情 her stellar career. As already 明言する/公表するd, Dr Craissati was subsequently 任命するd 臨床の director of the Bracton Centre and was later made an MBE.
But her link to the Nicola Edgington スキャンダル ― in fairness, a string of other professionals 伴う/関わるd in Edgington’s 治療 received stinging 批評, too ―will do little to assuage the 怒り/怒る of Worboys’s 犠牲者s.
Dr Craissati’s beliefs, 株d by many of her peers, will doubtless have already 確認するd a growing 疑惑 の中で the wider public that the 権利s of 悪党/犯人s ますます come before the 権利s of their 犠牲者s.
Much of Dr Craissati’s work has 焦点(を合わせる)d on paedophiles. Her 調書をとる/予約する, Child Sex Abusers, A Community 治療 Approach, was written in the late Nineties when she was based at the Bracton Centre.
Dismissin g 設立するd theories in this field as ‘illogical and 不確かの rhetoric,’ she 令状s:
‘Emotive 返答s to biased 仮定/引き受けることs can only 増加する the daunting 仕事 of 査定する/(税金などを)課すing and managing the 性の 違反者/犯罪者s known within our system, and identifying those individuals who do indeed 提起する/ポーズをとる an enormous 危険 to children.
‘The message that “there is no cure” is disheartening ― and probably untrue. It would seem that ― にもかかわらず under-報告(する)/憶測ing ― a number of 罪人/有罪を宣告するd sex 違反者/犯罪者s do not reoffend.’
Dr Craissati 持続するs 治療 programmes have even 許すd ‘some [abusive] fathers and children to re-設立する a warm, の近くに 関係’.
She says 熟考する/考慮するs 示唆する the police should only be ‘worried about’ 25 to 33 per cent of people who 接近 child pornography.
Jim 賭事, a former 長,率いる of Ceop, the child 開発/利用 and online 保護 命令(する) of the 国家の 罪,犯罪 機関, says the 人物/姿/数字 who 提起する/ポーズをとる a 危険 could be as high as 85 per cent.
Another 議論の的になる 支配する is 取り組むd in an academic paper by Dr Craissati with the 肩書を与える: ‘Should We Worry About Sex 違反者/犯罪者s Who 否定する Their Offences?’
It is a rhetorical question. ‘There is no 証拠 to link 否定 to 増加するd 性の recidivism [reoffending],’ she wrote. ‘Indeed, the converse is true insofar as a number of 熟考する/考慮するs link 否定 to 減ずるd reoffending, 特に in higher-危険 sex 違反者/犯罪者s.’
This is 決定的な and may help us understand the 推論する/理由s why Dr Craissati is said to have supported Worboys’s 使用/適用 for 仮釈放(する).
Worboys has shown little 悔恨 for his attacks 負かす/撃墜する the years.
In 2010, he 報道によれば lost his 控訴,上告 against 有罪の判決. Three 控訴,上告 法廷,裁判所 裁判官s branded him a chancer who wasted 法廷,裁判所 time. In 2013, he also asked the 犯罪の 事例/患者s Review (売買)手数料,委託(する)/委員会/権限 (CCRC) to 診察する his 事例/患者. Two years later, he withdrew his submission with no explanation.
仮釈放(する) cannot be 辞退するd 単独で on the basis of a 囚人’s 否定 or 欠如(する) of 悔恨, but they are important factors when an 使用/適用 is considered.
There have been 報告(する)/憶測s that Worboys ‘設立する God’ and 変えるd to Christianity before coming before the 仮釈放(する) Board at Wakefield 刑務所,拘置所, where he will remain until his 解放(する).
His 犠牲者s have questioned why Worboys was 否定するd a move to an open 刑務所,拘置所 in 2015, but 認めるd 仮釈放(する) just over two years later.
They said he had not undergone a ‘実験(する)’ period in a more open 環境, usually considered 決定的な for sex 違反者/犯罪者s before 解放(する).
Worboys will be 支配する to 14 制限s when he comes out of Wakefield.
刑務所,拘置所 sources say he will ha ve to live for at least six months in a 保釈(金) 宿泊所 with a night-time 外出禁止令, which will be little なぐさみ to the women he 的d.
His modus operandi was to tell them he’d come into money and 招待する them to join him in a 瓶/封じ込める of シャンペン酒 to celebrate. It was laced with sedatives.
‘He is a calculating, devious individual and it would take an awful lot to 納得させる me it is 安全な to have him outside,’ was the 判決 of the former 探偵,刑事 長,指導者 視察官 who led the 初めの 調査 into Worboys.
Is there anyone apart, it seems, from Dr Jackie Craissati and her fellow 証言,証人/目撃するs who gave 証拠 to the 仮釈放(する) Board, who would 同意しない with him?
