会合，会う the agoraphobic German Shepherd too 脅すd to 投機・賭ける outdoors

It's one word 保証（人）d to have almost any dog 緊急発進するing to the 前線 door in a bundle of excitement.

But for Sam the German shepherd cross just the merest について言及する of "walkies" is enough to have him scurrying in the other direction.

The 12-year-old 苦しむs from agoraphobia and is terrified of 投機・賭けるing outdoors.

Homebound: Sam is terrified of outdoors and 辞退するs to go for walks

For him, the idea of splashing around in a muddy puddle in the middle of a （警察の）手入れ，急襲-sodden field is a nightmare.

Any 試みる／企てる to take him out into the 広大な／多数の／重要な unknown will see him dig his paws into the ground and arch his 支援する in a 企て，努力，提案 to remain within the safety of his home.

Mystery surrounds why Sam has developed a 恐れる of the outside but one theory is that he spent too much time 限定するd in a small first 床に打ち倒す flat when he was puppy.

His owner, an 年輩の woman, bought him to keep her company but she was too frail to take him for walks.

When she died, Sam was taken in by the Dog's 信用 but any その後の 試みる／企てるs to re-home him were scuppered by his 恐れる of the world beyond his four 塀で囲むs.

Staff at the 信用's centre in Snetterton, Norfolk, 結局 abandoned their 追跡（する） for new owners and decided instead to keep him in one of their kennels 十分な time.

He has all manner of 高級なs, 含むing a 厚い quilt to 嘘（をつく） on and a host of rubber toys to play with, to make his constant life inside as comfortable as possible.

Sam's previous owner was too frail to take him out, resulting in a 恐れる of leaving the house

The only time Sam, a cross between a German shepherd and a collie, takes any 試験的な steps outside is when he is 演習d in a paddock at the 支援する of the centre.

Even then he only has a short burst of 演習 and is 影をつくる／尾行するd throughout by his handler.

Sandra Owen, assistant 経営者／支配人 at the centre, said: "Unfortunately, for Sam the 広大な／多数の／重要な outdoors is anything but.

"He finds staying inside so much more comfortable and 安心させるing, 特に in the winter when the 天候 is 冷淡な and grey.

"I think his 恐れる of the outside world is borne out of his background, he used to belong to an 年輩の lady, who although doted on him, was too old to take him out.

"He would be 閉じ込める／刑務所d up in the flat all day long so when she died and he was 手渡すd over to us, he was 極端に nervous.

"It took a while for him to become comfortable around us and to get used to his new surroundings but he was not happy about going outside at all.

"Any 試みる／企てる to take him to somewhere he does not want to go will see him digging his paws in and resisting.

"His tail lowers, her ears lower and he appears very, very agitated.

"Sam has 改善するd since he's been with us, he will now go out into the paddock behind our offices but it's only ever with his handler and for no 広大な／多数の／重要な length of time.

"It's enough for him to have a burst of fresh 空気／公表する and to 演習 his 脚s.

"We've never heard of a dog 苦しむing agoraphobia before but it's a little trait which makes Sam so endearing."

Barbara Emons, special relations officer, 追加するd: "Sam is loved by everyone at the centre, he has become one of the family.

"He really doesn't like going out so we've tried to make life as comfortable as possible for him in his kennel.

"He has a quilt, pillow and a 負担 of toys to keep him 占領するd. But to be honest, he's happy in doors and wouldn't have it any other way.

"There is the 追加するd 特別手当 that he keeps his coat spotless because there is never the worry about him splashing around in a muddy puddle somewhere."

Renowned animal behaviour 専門家 Dr Richard Mugford said: "Agoraphobia is rare in dogs, 特に when you consider how much they like going for 'walkies'.

"In Sam's 事例／患者, it appears as though the years he was kept inside when he was a puppy have had an 影響 on him and he is 用心深い of the outside world.

"He is part collie too and that 産む／飼育する of dog has 特に 極度の慎重さを要する 審理，公聴会 so he could've been spooked by a 花火 or loud 割れ目 of 雷鳴 which has 追加するd to his 恐れる of the outdoors.

"It may help to take Sam out one small step at a time to get him used to his surroundings."
