Why does the MoD shoot the messenger?

Nobody has spoken up more powerfully than Oxfordshire 検死官 Andrew Walker for the 福利事業 of British 軍隊／機動隊s in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Again and again at his 検死s, he has 辞退するd to pull punches when he believes 兵士s have died because of 不十分な 器具／備品 or avoidable mistakes.

It was Mr Walker who 非難するd it as "inexcusable" when Sergeant Stephen Roberts was 発射 dead in Iraq after 存在 ordered to give up his 団体／死体 armour.

It was he who said, after Captain James Philippson was killed in Afghanistan, that our 兵士s were 敗北・負かすd "not by テロリストs but by the 欠如（する） of basic 器具／備品".

And it was Mr Walker who 非難するd 私的な Jason Smith's death in Iraq from heatstroke on a "serious 失敗" to recognise and 演説（する）／住所 兵士s' difficulties in adjusting to 気温s of 140f.

Now at last Defence 長官 Des Browne has been stirred into 活動／戦闘.

So has he 問題／発行するd orders that henceforth no British 兵士 will be sent into 戦う／戦い without the 権利 道具?

Has he 需要・要求するd new 手続きs for 取引，協定ing with the lethal dangers of heatstroke? Has he, hell.

In a move that will 怒り／怒る and 狼狽 millions, Mr Browne is 捜し出すing a High 法廷，裁判所 order to 禁止（する） 検死官s from making 批判的な comments about the MoD.

How utterly, disgracefully typical of New 労働 大臣s: when they don't like the message, they try to shoot the messenger.

Mr Browne's lawyers argue that by 非難するing 兵士s' deaths on 怠慢，過失, Mr Walker is overstepping his 力／強力にするs and laying the MoD open to 損害賠償金 （人命などを）奪う，主張するs.

Let's leave aside the question of why （死が）奪い去るd families shouldn't be する権利を与えるd to 損害賠償金 if the 政府 is indeed 合法的に culpable.

The fact is the 広大な／多数の／重要な 大多数 of 兵士s' families aren't 動機づけるd by money.

All they want is for somebody to 暴露する the facts about their loved ones' deaths - a 義務 Mr Walker 成し遂げるs supremely 井戸／弁護士席.

Does Mr Browne want lessons to be learnt from 兵士s' deaths?

Or is he 利益／興味d only in 保護するing his own ますます shabby 評判.

A 有毒な circle

For more than 15 years, the Mail has fought a lonely 戦う／戦い to 最高潮の場面 the 損失 存在 done to children and society by the 決裂／故障 of 伝統的な families, 焦点（を合わせる）ing on a 税金 and 利益s system that 活発に encourages parents to 分裂（する） up.

Indeed, a whole 世代 is growing up without male 役割 models.

For our 苦痛s, we've been 解任するd as reactionaries, out of tune with this easygoing modern age. Until recently.

Suddenly, growing numbers of academic 熟考する／考慮するs 確認する the 害（を与える） is real.

一方／合間 David Cameron, to his 広大な／多数の／重要な credit, is making links between our broken society and broken homes, while 約束ing to support marriage.

Now the 協会 of Teachers and Lecturers has joined the swelling chorus, 警告 that family 決裂／故障 is destroying a 世代's chances in life.

In a speech that might have leapt straight from these pages, teacher Phil Whalley 警告するs that many children from 安定性のない backgrounds go on to produce dysfunctional families of their own.

"In short," he says, "as a society we are in danger of creating an 拡大するing, perpetuating and 有毒な circle."

But the 政府's reaction?

A 広報担当者 for Children's 長官 Ed Balls 約束s fatuously to 'make all schools 21st Century schools' with "統合するd services".

In other words, more social engine ering and more social 労働者s to 選ぶ up the pieces.

He just doesn't get it, does he?

When will 大臣s 取り組む the problem at its roots - and throw the might of the 政府 behind stable families?
