One of Australia's most renowned painters Charles Blackman has died one week after celebrating his 90th birthday.

The Sydney-born prize-winning artist, renowned for his Alice In Wonderland 一連の 作品, started his working life as a newspaper illustrator with an afternoon tabloid.

He became famous for his 一連の 絵s of schoolgirls, and kept 製図/抽選 and 絵 all his life as part of a figurative art movement during the 中央の-twentieth century that rebelled against the earlier expressionist style of 絵.

Born on August 12, 1928 in Sydney, Blackman was 大部分は self-taught but did …に出席する night classes in 製図/抽選 and design at the East Sydney Technical College from about the age of 14.

He worked as an illus trator for the then Fairfax family-owned Sydney Sun until he moved to Melbourne in 1952.
