With?its 独特の 団体／死体 and pointed ears, the Scottish terrier is one of Britain’s most 即時に recognisable dogs.

A favourite of Queen Victoria and several US 大統領s, Scotties have been used to advertise whisky and shortbread, and even immortalised as one of the playing pieces in Monopoly.

But 専門家s have 警告するd that they could be wiped out as they 落ちる out of favour as a family pet in favour of ‘designer’ 産む／飼育するs such as the cockapoo.

The Kenne l Club has placed Scotties on its ‘at-危険’ 登録（する）, after an かつてない low of just 438 puppies were 登録（する）d last year. In the 1950s, it was one of the most popular dogs in Britain, with thousands 登録（する）d every year.

It has also featured on Walker’s shortbread 薄焼きパン／素焼陶器s, 黒人／ボイコット and White whisky and Radley handbags.

Scotties were first 記録，記録的な／記録するd in Britain in the 16th Century, when they were used on Highland farms to 追跡（する） ネズミs, foxes and badgers. They later became 設立するd as family pets.?

Stuart 計画（する）, from Seaham, 郡 Durham, who has bred Scotties for more than 40 years, said: ‘They are loveable, loyal and 信頼できる. They’ll go anywhere you want, walk in the hills or on a road, and travel 井戸／弁護士席 in a car or on a boat. They are definitely not lapdogs and they don’t like 存在 nursed and held all the time.

‘They make good guard dogs because they have an impressive bark and big teeth but they don’t bite and are 広大な／多数の／重要な with children.’

Mrs Kisko said: ‘We could lose even more of our most historic dog 産む／飼育するs if people don’t look beyond the most obvious choices and start to 調査する the 抱擁する 多様制 of 産む／飼育するs that we’re lucky enough to have in this country.’
