Mesothelioma is a type of 癌 that develops in the lining that covers the outer surface of some of the 団体/死体's 組織/臓器s. It's usually linked to asbestos (危険などに)さらす.

It おもに 影響する/感情s the lining of the 肺s (pleural mesothelioma), although it can also 影響する/感情 the lining of the tummy (peritoneal mesothelioma), heart or testicles.

More than 2,600 people are 診断するd with the 条件 each year in the UK. Most 事例/患者s are 診断するd in people 老年の 60-80 and men are 影響する/感情d more 一般的に than women.

These tiny fibres can easily get in the 肺s, where they get stuck, 損失ing the 肺s over time. It usually takes a while for this to 原因(となる) any obvious problems, with mesothelioma typically developing more than 20 years after (危険などに)さらす to asbestos.

The use of asbestos was 完全に banned in 1999, so the 危険 of (危険などに)さらす is much lower nowadays. However, 構成要素s 含む/封じ込めるing asbestos are still 設立する in many older buildings.
