Community of 15 Benedictine 修道女s at 商店街ing Abbey go to war with 住宅 developer over 計画（する）s to build 65 houses opposite their tranquil 11th century home

Since 1090, the Benedictine 修道女s of 商店街ing Abbey have led a secluded life of worship in which tranquility is 心にいだくd above all else.

But years of 平和的な 存在 is about to be ripped apart by 住宅 developers who are rolling in diggers and 準備するing to build a sprawling 65-home 広い地所 next to the grounds of the Grade I and II 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）d buildings.

The sisters, however, are 戦う／戦いing to 保存する the 孤立／分離 they 現在／一般に enjoy in West 商店街ing, Kent, have been 支援するd by many in the 地元の community which is 決起大会／結集させるing against construction company Bellway on their に代わって.????

Reverend David Green, vicar of St Mary's Church in West 商店街ing, said the order of around 10 to 15 修道女s, whose ages are 概算の to 範囲 from 35 to 95, 要求するd a 静かな 環境 to worship in.

'If you flip it around, if this 住宅 開発 had already been here, would Pilsdon, this charity, 始める，決める up here? The answer is no.

'We all recognise there needs to be homes in the South East but they need to be in sensible places and, unfortunately, this is definitely not a sensible place.'
