Behind the 現在進行中の violent プロの／賛成の-僕主主義 抗議するs in Hong Kong is a major grudge many young people in every 豊富な, modern city cities can understand: the sky-high cost of living.?

Rising 住宅 prices have 軍隊d a 世代 of Hong Kong university 卒業生（する）s into living in rooms and cubicles as small as 5 square metres, as they work up to five 職業s to 支払う／賃金 the 法案s.

Many of these 高度に-educated 20-somethings who are now on the streets fighting for 僕主主義 see no 未来 for themselves and no hope of ever owning a home.?

The median 月毎の salary of those 老年の 25 to 34 is about HK$18,300 ($3,489), when the 月毎の rent for a 45 square metre furnished studio is HK$18,308 ($3,480).?

Many of Hong Kong's young people believe the economy is controlled by a cartel of the Beijing-friendly 大君s - with 不平等 only growing wider since the 領土 returned to 中国 from British 支配する in 1997.??

These angry 青年s have been at the 最前部 of ますます violent 抗議するs which started over a 提案するd 国外逃亡犯人の引渡し 法律 which would 許す the Chinese 政府 to take 嫌疑者，容疑者／疑うs to 直面する 裁判，公判 on the 本土／大陸, where there is a 99.9 per cent 有罪の判決 率.?

They have shook the 創立／基礎s of the city and 怒り／怒るing the 共産主義者 leaders in Beijing, who are not used to having to 許容する any dissent.?

At the root of those 抗議するs is 関心 over what many 居住（者）s see as the 腐食 of civil liberties and the city's 自治 by an ever-干渉 Beijing which 辞退するs to 認める 十分な 僕主主義 to the former British 植民地.

But many young people in one of the world's most 密集して 居住させるd and expensive cities are also infuriated by sky-high living costs and the feeling that a home of one's own is just a dream.

Reuters spoke to 11 young people within the tiny bedrooms of their parents' homes about their political 関心s and 失望／欲求不満s about life in Hong Kong.

Eunice Wai, a 30-year-old 最初の／主要な school teacher, was sitting in her 7.4 square metre bedroom when she explained how Hong Kong people felt stifled by Beijing.

'They 支配（する）／統制する people more and give us いっそう少なく freedom,' she said.

Wai said other problems made life ますます difficult, in particular what she said was an 不公平な 住宅 政策 that only seemed to make the rich richer.

'住宅 is one of the most important ones. We have so little room in Hong Kong and people find it hard to buy a flat. The 所有物／資産／財産 companies 支配（する）／統制する the market.'

Michael 売春婦, a bespectacled 24-year-old 卒業生（する） who lives with his parents, said the 抗議するs were also about 不正な circumstances that 妨げる young people living their dreams.

'It's just hopeless for young people to grow, to develop their career because of the pricing problem,' 売春婦 said.

On 普通の／平均（する）, people 捜し出すing public 住宅 in the city of 7.4million people have to wait five and a half years. The 普通の／平均（する） living space is 40 square metres.

Roy Lam, who lives with his mother and four sisters, said young people were 決定するd to stand up for what they deserved but it was hard to stay 肯定的な.

'We do also いつかs think, "Let's just give up, let's just move to someplace else".'

Fung Cheng, a 25-year-old graphic designer living with his parents and brother, vented his 失望／欲求不満 at a system he believes has robbed him of the chance to ever have his own home.

Cheng, perched on his bunk above a white desk in his 5 square metre bedroom, said Hong Kong's Beijing-支援するd 知事 Carrie Lam did not listen to the people.

'It's the system's problem... they don't need a 投票（する） to be the 政府, there is no 僕主主義,' Cheng said.

Lam, who was chosen as leader in 2017 in a 投票（する） by an 選挙（人）の college 認可するd by Beijing, has 一時停止するd the 国外逃亡犯人の引渡し 法案 and said it would lapse next year.

But the 抗議する人s want it scrapped and have called for Lam to step 負かす／撃墜する.

'There are so many 圧力s in Hong Kong, price 圧力, academic 圧力... I don't want the 未来 世代 to 直面する this problem.'
