Bernard Morgan, 95, received a telex in 1945 発表するing the end of 武装した 衝突 in Europe while working as a code breaker for the RAF in Schneverdingen, Germany.

The 退役軍人 from 乗組員, Cheshire, spent more than 50 years keeping 静かな about the secret missive, which he believes is one of the only of its 肉親，親類d still in 存在.

Mr Morgan, the youngest RAF sergeant to land in Normandy, has 辞退するd to give museums the 初めの - but is now 株ing his story with children to 保存する it.?

The retired clerical officer, who turns 96 next week, said: 'I was 駅／配置するd in Schneverdingen in Germany when I got the telex to let me know that the war was ending and that the German 降伏する was 切迫した.

'I received it from ground 支配（する）／統制する and the message read: 'Secret. The German war is now over.' I had to 調印する the 公式の／役人 secrets 行為／法令／行動する as part of my training, so I never told anyone about it. For two days, I kept 静かな about the （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状）.

'We code breakers never sat with the other officers at dinner, so I was used to keeping 静かな. When VE Day （機の）カム two days later there was a big 祝賀.?

'There was lots of alcohol and a big bonfire. There were other telexes that airmen took at the time, but I don't know of any others in museums today.

'Once I arrived 支援する in Britain, I told nobody about what I had been doing. My parents never even asked what I had been doing in Germany.

'I had to 調印する the 公式の／役人 secrets 行為／法令／行動する, which forbid me to speak about my time in the war, so couldn't tell anybody about knowing in 前進する for 50 years. You were bound to keep 静かな for that long because they thought you would be dead by then.'

Telex was an international system used in the past for sending written messages 経由で a linked 網状組織 of teleprinting machines. The message Mr Morgan received in May 1945 read: 'German war now over, 降伏する 効果的な いつか tomorrow'.

But にもかかわらず museums clamouring to get their 手渡すs on the telex, Mr Morgan, 初めは from Longsight, Manchester, has no 計画（する）s to give it up anytime soon.

He said: 'I 申し込む／申し出d a copy of the telex to the 皇室の War Museum in London - they 手配中の，お尋ね者 the 初めの, but I'm not giving them it. I want it for my family to keep.'

As a 20-year-old code and cipher 操作者, Mr Morgan landed on Gold Beach on D-Day.

The 器具／備品 he was using was so 極度の慎重さを要する that he could not 危険 it 存在 逮捕（する）d by the enemy and he was 脅すd when he went 岸に, having heard and seen the 砲火 from the beaches 夜通し.

After the war in Europe finished, Mr Morgan, then 21 and an RAF sergeant at the time, was 地位，任命するd to Japan, but never arrived after the war ended in August 1945 before his ship arrived.

Instead, he ended up 立ち往生させるd in Mumbai for 14 months, where he 契約d diphtheria and spent three months in hospital, losing seven 石／投石する.

Upon arriving 支援する in Britain, Mr Morgan 再開するd his 職業 as a clerical officer for the London, Midland and Scottish 鉄道 company, where he worked for over 40 years.?

Manchester-born Mr Morgan also worked as a turnstile attendant at 乗組員 Alexandra football club at the 週末s for 57 years, にもかかわらず 存在 a Manchester City fan.

He married his wife Brenda in 1950, with whom he had one daughter, Sheila, who is now 67. Brenda died in 2001, but Mr Morgan now also has two grandchildren and one 広大な／多数の／重要な granddaughter.

Now he is able to speak 公然と about his time in the RAF, Mr Morgan is able to 解任する the period 正確に thanks to illicit diaries he kept during the war.

He said: 'I kept a diary throughout the war even though it was a 法廷，裁判所 marshall offence to keep one. If you were caught, you were 法廷，裁判所 marshalled but you were only sent 支援する to the UK to serve your time, so we didn't care.

'Even the officers kept diaries. Nobody was worried about 存在 caught.'
