Saudi-led 連合 fighting in Yemen 発表するs two-week 停戦 so the country can 戦う／戦い coronavirus

The Saudi-led 軍の 連合 fighting Yemen's Huthi 反逆者／反逆するs has 宣言するd a two-week 停戦 in the country starting Thursday in a 企て，努力，提案 to 戦闘 the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

The 片側だけの 停戦 follows an escalation in fighting between the warring parties にもかかわらず a call by the 国際連合 for an 即座の 停止 to 保護する 非軍事のs in the Arab world's poorest nation from the pandemic.

The 告示, 予定 to 施行される from 9 a.m. GMT on Thursday, 示すs the first 打開 since the warring parties agreed to a UN-仲買人d 停戦 in the port city of Hodeida during 会談 in Sweden in late 2018.

The 片側だけの 停戦 follows an escalation in fighting between the warring Riyadh-led 軍の 連合 and Yemen's Huthi 反逆者／反逆するs

'The 連合 is 決定するd... to support 成果／努力s に向かって combatting the spread of COVID-19 pandemic,' Turki al-Maliki, the 軍の 同盟's 広報担当者, said on Wednesday.

'The 連合 発表するs a 包括的な 停戦 in Yemen for a period of two weeks, starting on Thursday.'

The two-week 一時休戦, which could be 延長するd, was 目的（とする）d at creating 'appropriate 条件s' for a UN-sponsored 会合 between the warring parties to enable a '永久の 停戦' in Yemen, Maliki 追加するd.

There was no 即座の reaction from the Iran-提携させるd 反逆者／反逆するs.

The war has already left Yemen gripped by what the UN calls the world's worst 人道的な 危機

But hours before the 告示, the 反逆者／反逆するs 解放（する）d a 包括的な 文書 that called for a 撤退 of foreign 軍隊／機動隊s and the end of the 連合's 封鎖 on Yemen's land, sea and 空気／公表する ports.

The 連合, which 開始する，打ち上げるd its 軍の 介入 to support Yemen's 国祭的な recognised 政府 in 2015, said it was fully committed to a two-week 停戦.

But when asked whether it will 答える／応じる if the 反逆者／反逆するs 固執する with attacks during the 一時休戦, a Saudi 公式の／役人 said it reserved the 権利 to 'defend our people'.

UN special （外交）使節／代表 ツバメ Griffiths welcomed the 一時休戦, calling on the warring parties to '中止する すぐに all 敵意s with the 最大の 緊急'.

The 停戦 comes as Saudi Arabia, reeling from 急落（する），激減（する）ing oil prices, 捜し出すs to extricate itself from the 高くつく／犠牲の大きい five-year 衝突 that has killed tens of thousands of people and 誘発する／引き起こすd what the UN calls the world's worst 人道的な cr isis.

Saudi 副 defence 大臣 Prince Khalid 貯蔵所 Salman called on the 反逆者／反逆するs to 'show good will' by 本気で engaging in 対話.

'The two week 停戦 will hopefully create a more 効果的な 気候 to deescalate 緊張s, work with (Griffiths) に向かって a 維持できる political 解決／入植地,' Prince Khalid said on Twitter.

The 国際連合 has 繰り返して called for an 即座の 停止 of 敵意s in Yemen to help 回避する 潜在的に 悲惨な consequences of the coronavirus 突発／発生.

Yemen's broken healthcare system has so far 記録，記録的な／記録するd no 事例／患者s of the COVID-19 illness, but 援助（する） groups have 警告するd that when it does 攻撃する，衝突する, the 衝撃 will be 壊滅的な.

'The 停戦 seems to be more of a 儀礼 than a 政策 -- it comes in 返答 to UN calls to deescalate during the COVID-19 危機,' Fatima Abo Alasrar, a scholar at the Middle East 学校／設ける, told AFP.

Saudi Arabia, the Yemeni 政府 and the Huthi 反逆者／反逆するs had all welcomed an 控訴，上告 from UN 長官 General Antonio Guterres for an '即座の 全世界の 停戦' to help 回避する 災害 for 攻撃を受けやすい people in 衝突 zones.
