A touching 尊敬の印: The 悲劇の Second World War 衝突,墜落 場所/位置s hidden in the Welsh hills

As Remembrance Day approaches, we 解任する the millions from Britain and the 連邦/共和国 who gave their lives and are laid to 残り/休憩(する) in some corner of a foreign field. During the Second World War, however, many 軍の 死傷者s were also 苦しむd in the UK.

In the Brecon Beacons and 黒人/ボイコット Mountains in 中央の むちの跡s, there are the 衝突,墜落 場所/位置s of no より小数の than 40 航空機.

Guide Jeff Calligan took me for a wonderful three-and-a-half hour trek from the car park 近づく the Dan yr Ogof 洞穴s to Carreg Goch.

This is fabulous walking countryside with 素晴らしい 見解(をとる)s - and it is extraordinarily 静かな. We passed just two other people the whole time we were there.

What is surprising is the 量 of 難破 that still remains: large sections of wings, a strut of the undercarriage and a 絡まる of engine 構成要素s. Sadly, 難破させる-hunters continue to take souvenirs.

She was born in Spain in 1843 to Italian オペラ-singing parents and became one of the best-known and highest-paid classical music performers in the world. She chose this remote part of むちの跡s for her 退職, and died here in 1919. She is buried in Paris's P?re Lachaise 共同墓地. Such was the awe in which she was held that when she asked for her own 鉄道 駅/配置する to be built next to her house, the request was 認めるd 即時に.
