イスラム教徒 pupil at 主要な London school once dubbed 'Britain's strictest' loses High 法廷,裁判所 challenge against its 禁止(する) on 祈り rituals

A イスラム教徒 pupil today lost a High 法廷,裁判所 challenge against a 禁止(する) on 祈り rituals at a high-達成するing school in London which was once dubbed Britain's strictest.

The student, who cannot be 指名するd, took 合法的な 活動/戦闘 against Michaela Community School in Brent, (人命などを)奪う,主張するing the 政策 was 差別的な and 'uniquely' 影響する/感情d her 約束 予定 to its ritualised nature.

She argued the school's 姿勢 on 祈り - one of the five 中心存在s of Islam - unlawfully 違反d her 権利 to 宗教的な freedom and was 'the 肉親,親類d of 差別 which makes 宗教的な 少数,小数派s feel 疎遠にするd from society'.

The school, 設立するd and led by headteacher Katharine Birbalsingh, a former 政府 social mobility tsar, argued its 祈り 政策 was 正当化するd after it 直面するd death and 爆弾 脅しs linked to 宗教的な observance on 場所/位置.

The 禁止(する) was introduced in March last year after 30 students began to pray in the school's yard, using blazers to ひさまづく on ? with the 支配するs 課すd 予定 to 関心s about a 'culture 転換' に向かって 'segregation between 宗教的な groups and 脅迫 within the group of イスラム教徒 pupils', the 法廷,裁判所 was told.?

In a written 判決,裁定 問題/発行するd at the High 法廷,裁判所 in London this morning, Mr 司法(官) Linden 解任するd the pupil's arguments against the 祈り rituals 禁止(する). But the 裁判官 upheld the student's challenge to a 決定/判定勝ち(する) to 一時的に 除外する her from the school.

Ms Birbalsingh 述べるd the main 判決,裁定 as a 'victory for all schools' while the pupil said they were '明白に very disappointed' having 'tried my best' in bringing the 事例/患者. The pupil's mother said s he was 'profoundly 狼狽d by the 事例/患者's 結果'.?

Who is 'Britain's strictest headteacher' Katharine Birbalsingh?

Katharine Birbalsingh, who has been 一般的に 述べるd as Britain's strictest headteacher, is no stranger to 論争.

Ms Birbalsingh, headteacher of Michaela Community School in Brent in North London, has been at the centre of a 合法的な challenge after she decided to 禁止(する) 祈り rituals at the 第2位 school.

The high-profile school leader has attracted a lot of マスコミ attention over the years for her outspoken 見解(をとる)s on education and 'woke' culture.

She first grabbed the headlines at the 2010 保守的な Party 会議/協議会 with a damning speech on the 明言する/公表する of England's schools where she said 基準s had been 'so dumbed 負かす/撃墜する that even the teachers know it' and the education system was broke n 'as it keeps poor children poor'.

A few weeks after her speech to 委任する/代表s at the Tory 会議/協議会, Ms Birbalsingh left her 地位,任命する as 副 headteacher of St Michael and All Angels Church of England 学院 in south London.

In 2014, she 設立するd Michaela Community School - a 解放する/自由な school which has been dubbed the strictest in the country.

Year 7 pupils at Michaela are 要求するd to …に出席する a behaviour 'boot (軍の)野営地,陣営' which teaches them how to walk to lessons quickly in 選び出す/独身 とじ込み/提出する, how to sit 適切に on a 議長,司会を務める, and how to concentrate in class.

Students at the school get 拘留,拘置s if they talk in the 回廊(地帯) or if they forget their pencil 事例/患者 or 支配者.

The high-達成するing school, which has been 率d '優れた' by Ofsted, has been 賞賛するd by a number of Tory 大臣s in the past for its academic success, and in 2020 Ms Birbalsingh was made a CBE.

In October 2021, Ms Birbalsingh was 任命するd as chairwoman of the 政府's Social Mobility (売買)手数料,委託(する)/委員会/権限 (SMC).

Liz Truss, who was equalities 大臣 at the time, celebrated the headteacher for '推定する/予想するing high 基準s and not indulging the soft bigotry of low 期待s'.

But Ms Birbalsingh, who 述べるs herself on social マスコミ as having 'small c 保守的な values', 直面するd 批評 for comments she made as the 政府's social mobility tsar.

In April 2022, she 設立する herself in hot water over comments to a 政府 委員会 which 暗示するd girls do not choose to 熟考する/考慮する A-level physics because they dislike 'hard maths'.

In her 就任の speech as the SMC chairwoman, Ms Birbalsingh, an Oxford University 卒業生(する), said understanding of social mobility needed to move beyond a 'rags to riches', '刑事 Whittington' approach where there is a ' 焦点(を合わせる) on big-leap-上向き mobility from the 底(に届く) to the 最高の,を越す in one 世代'.

She やめる her 役割 as the 政府's social mobility tsar in January 2023, 特記する/引用するing the fact that she (機の)カム with 'too much baggage' and was doing 'more 害(を与える) than good'.?She 追加するd that some of her '議論の的になる' 声明s had put the (売買)手数料,委託(する)/委員会/権限 in 'jeopardy'.

Just four months later, Ms Birbalsingh made headlines again when she told the 国家の 保守主義 会議/協議会 that parents should be willing to take their children out of schools if they are 'too woke'.

Ms Birbalsingh is not afraid to speak her mind - 特に on social マスコミ - and the 最近の events surrounding her school are no exception.?In January, in a 地位,任命する on X, Ms Birbalsingh defended the school's 政策 on 祈りs as she said it (機の)カム まっただ中に a 背景 of 暴力/激しさ, 脅迫 and racial いやがらせ of teachers.

In the same week that the 事例/患者 against the school was heard in the High 法廷,裁判所, Education 長官 Gillian Keegan あられ/賞賛するd Ms Birbalsingh's leadership of Michaela School as 'incredible' on social マスコミ.

He 追加するd: 'The disadvantage to イスラム教徒 pupils at the school 原因(となる)d by the 祈り ritual 政策 is in my 見解(をとる) outweighed by the 目的(とする)s which it 捜し出すs to 促進する in the 利益/興味s of the school community as a whole, 含むing イスラム教徒 pupils.'

In an 83-page judgment 解任するing the student's 事例/患者, Mr 司法(官) Linden wrote: 'It seems to me that this is a 事例/患者 ... where the claimant at the very least impliedly 受託するd, when she 入会させるd at the school, that she would be 支配する to 制限s on her ability to manifest her 宗教.

'She knew that the school is 世俗的な and her own 証拠 is that her mother wished her to go there because it was known to be strict.

'She herself says that, long before the 祈り ritual 政策 was introduced, she and her friends believed that 祈り was not permitted at school and she therefore made up for 行方不明になるd 祈りs when she got home.'

Mr 司法(官) Linden continued in his 判決,裁定: 'The 必須の nature of the school 政権 is one which the claimant and her fellow pupils, or at least their parents, have chosen and, indeed, that they have chosen to remain at the school notwithstanding the 祈り ritual 政策 (PRP).

'Although the claimant says that she is aware of 憤慨 of the PRP amongst some イスラム教徒 pupils, there is no 証拠 that this has 影響する/感情d enrolment or led any of them to choose to leave.

'Nor, indeed, is there 証拠 of the 問題/発行する 存在 raised with the school since the PRP was introduced, other than in the 状況 of this (人命などを)奪う,主張する.

'On the contrary, the 証拠 is that since the PRP was introduced good relations within the school community have been 回復するd.'

He 追加するd: 'Balancing the 逆の 影響s of the PRP on the 権利s of イスラム教徒 pupils at the school with the 目的(とする)s of th e PRP and the extent to which it is likely to 達成する those 目的(とする)s, I have 結論するd that the latter outweighs the former and that the PRP is proportionate.'

反応するing to the 判決,裁定 today, Ms?Birbalsingh said on X: 'A school should be 解放する/自由な to do what is 権利 for the pupils it serves. The 法廷,裁判所's 決定/判定勝ち(する) is therefore a victory for all schools.

'Schools should not be 軍隊d by one child and her mother to change its approach 簡単に because they have decided they don't like something at the school.'

She also said イスラム教徒 pupils last year had been put under 圧力 'to pray, to 減少(する) out of the choir, to wear a hijab' while teachers 直面するd 乱用 and 脅迫.

In the 声明, Mr Birbalsingh 追加するd: 'In 2014, 30 per cent of our intake was イスラム教徒. It is now 50 per cent. We are oversubscribed.

'If our families did not like the school, they would not 繰り返して choose to send their children to Michaela.'

反映するing on previous events at the school, Ms Birbalsingh said: 'Last year, we watched our イスラム教徒 pupils put under 圧力 by a tiny number of others to 急速な/放蕩な, to pray, to 減少(する) out of the choir, to wear a hijab.

'I watched one of my 黒人/ボイコット teachers 人種上 乱用d and 脅迫してさせるd, another teacher who had her personal home nearly broken into, and another with a brick thrown through her window.'

She 追加するd: 'There is a 誤った narrative that some try to paint about イスラム教徒s 存在 an 抑圧するd 少数,小数派 at our school. They are, in fact, the largest group.

'Those who are most at 危険 are other 少数,小数派s and イスラム教徒 children who are いっそう少なく observant.'

Rishi Sunak's 公式の/役人 広報担当者 told reporters: 'We welcome the 裁判/判断. The Michaela Community School is an outstand ing school with a history of excelling in its 結果s for all pupils, who are 定期的に from some of the most disadvantaged parts of London.

'The 政府 has always been (疑いを)晴らす that headteachers are best placed to take 決定/判定勝ち(する)s on what is permitted in their schools on these 事柄s, to balance the 権利s of all with the ethos of the small community, 含むing in relation to whether and how to 融通する 祈り. And this 裁判/判断 supports this.'

But the pupil who brought the 合法的な challenge said in a 声明 供給するd by 法律 会社/堅い Simpson Millar: 'I am 明白に very disappointed that the 裁判官 did not agree with me.

'As is 始める,決める out in the judgment, I do not agree that it would be too hard for the school to 融通する pupils who wished to pray in the lunch break.

'The school is very 井戸/弁護士席 run and 一般に very good at managing everything. The school doesn't wish to 許す pupils to pray, has chosen a different path and the 裁判官 has 設立する in their favour.

What are the unique practices at 'Britain's strictest school'??

Lunchtime poetry 詠唱するing, 国家の 国家 singing, 制限s on socialising, silent 回廊(地帯)s and constant 監督 form part of the 'unique ethos' of a school dubbed Britain's strictest, a 裁判官 was told.

The high-達成するing Michaela Community School in Brent, Morth London, 攻撃する,衝突する the headlines after a イスラム教徒 pupil brought a High 法廷,裁判所 challenge against its 恐らく 差別的な 禁止(する) on 祈り rituals.

The school defended against the (人命などを)奪う,主張する, arguing it had the discretion to 可決する・採択する the 姿勢 まっただ中に death and 爆弾 脅しs linked to 宗教的な observance on 場所/位置. A 判決,裁定 was 問題/発行するd today in favour of the school.

詳細(に述べる)s of Michaela's practices and its 'ultra-strict 施行' of behaviour 支配するs were 明らかにする/漏らすd by lawyers during the 審理,公聴会 of the student's 合法的な challenge.?They 含む:

- 'Family lunch', poetry 詠唱するing and singing the 国家の 国家

At lunchtime, children cannot choose where they sit in the school's halls but are 配分するd to (米)棚上げする/(英)提議するs of six depending on their year and form.

The first stand behind their 議長,司会を務めるs and 詠唱する poetry from memory and a teacher 始める,決めるs a 義務的な topic of conversation for pupils to discuss. The 目的(とする) is to 'develop the 技術 of conversing at a meal (米)棚上げする/(英)提議する'.

Children also have 始める,決める 役割s, such as collecting food or きれいにする (米)棚上げする/(英)提議するs. Only vegetarian food is served to 避ける 分割 on racial or 宗教的な lines.

Students also have to sing the 国家の 国家 twice a week.

- The Michaela '十分な stop'

Pupils must end every interaction with teachers with 'Sir' or '行方不明になる'.

- '跡をつけるing' in lessons and 'constant 監督'

Under the 跡をつけるing system, pupils 'must 支払う/賃金 constant attention' to the teacher during lessons. There is no time in during classes where children may socialise with others.

Teachers are 特に placed on 回廊(地帯)s, staircases and at the d oor of the 洗面所 to 監督する children during breaks.

- Silence in 回廊(地帯)s

Students move around the school's 狭くする 回廊(地帯)s in 選び出す/独身 とじ込み/提出する and in silence and can only 認める staff.

- The '支配する of four, no more'

Groups of more than four pupils are not 許すd, 含むing when in the school yard.

The 目的(とする) is to 妨げる social 除外, with the school (人命などを)奪う,主張するing that 'いじめ(る)ing is 事実上 unheard of'.

成果/努力s to '積極性 促進する 統合,差別撤廃' 含む teachers 活発に 介入するing in school yard conversations and games to 確実にする pupils do not feel left out.

- A strict uniform 政策

There is a 義務的な blazer, tie, and 海軍-blue 捕らえる、獲得する carrying the school's logo. Jewellery and make-up are banned and hairstyles must be 'appropriate'.

All of the children have 同一の transparent plastic 事例/患者s to carry their things in and a branded water 瓶/封じ込める. 確かな 宗教的な dress is 許すd, such as headscarves.

Only 確かな items can be carried by students, with all others banned. Phones seen or heard are 押収するd until the end of half 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語.

によれば the pupil's lawyers, students are not 許すd to wear coats, even in winter when they have to go outside in the 冷淡な.

Adverti sement

'存在 伴う/関わるd in this 事例/患者 has not been 平易な for me ... The teachers are very good here and I hope to do the best that I can. I am also 感謝する for the understanding that my 非,不,無-イスラム教徒 friends at school have shown as to the 問題/発行するs that 影響する/感情 us.'

The pupil's mother said she was 'profoundly 狼狽d by the 事例/患者's 結果'.

In a comment also 問題/発行するd by Simpson Millar, she said: 'The 事例/患者 was rooted in the understanding that 祈り isn't just a 望ましい 行為/法令/行動する for us - it's an 必須の element that 形態/調整s our lives as イスラム教徒s.

'In our 約束, 祈り 持つ/拘留するs 否定できない importance, guiding us through each challenge with strength and 約束.'

She 追加するd: 'My daughter's 情熱的な 姿勢 compelled me to support her and I stand 会社/堅い in that 決定/判定勝ち(する).

'Her courage in 追求するing this 事柄 fills me with pride and I'm 確信して she's 伸び(る)d invaluable lessons from the experience.'

Dan Rosenberg, a lawyer at 法律 会社/堅い Simpson Millar who 代表するd the pupil, said the 裁判官 had 公式文書,認めるd the 事例/患者 raised '問題/発行するs of 本物の public 利益/興味 in circumstances where the school's approach has come into 衝突 with the 宗教的な 視野 of an important section of society'.

He 追加するd: '明白に, the result was not a result that our (弁護士の)依頼人 手配中の,お尋ね者 but given the strength of her feelings, she did not feel it was 権利 to 単に 受託する the 状況/情勢 without 捜し出すing to challenge it.

'I 尊敬(する)・点 our (弁護士の)依頼人's mother for supporting her in this.'

However, Education 長官 Gillian Keegan said: 'I have always been (疑いを)晴らす that headteachers are best placed to make 決定/判定勝ち(する)s in their school.

'Michaela is an 優れた school and I hope this judgment gives all school leaders the 反対/詐欺 fidence to make the 権利 決定/判定勝ち(する)s for their pupils.'

And 世俗的な 選挙運動者s said the 判決,裁定 serves as a 思い出の品 that (人命などを)奪う,主張するs of 宗教的な freedom 'do not trump all other considerations'.

Stephen Evans, 長,指導者 (n)役員/(a)執行力のある of the 国家の 世俗的な Society, said: 'Given the disruption experienced by the school, a 判決,裁定 that the 禁止(する) on 祈り rituals was lawful is welcome.

'It also serves as a useful 思い出の品 that (人命などを)奪う,主張するs of 宗教的な freedom do not trump all other considerations. If a school wishes to 支持する a 世俗的な ethos, it should be する権利を与えるd to do so.

'Schools should be 環境s where everyone feels welcomed and valued, but that doesn't mean students have untrammelled 宗教的な freedom.

'Where the manifestation of 宗教 is みなすd 意見の不一致を生じる or 破壊的な, a balance must be struck. We're pleased the school's 活動/戦闘s have been vindicated.'

Another organisation said the 政府 should develop 国家の 指導/手引 on 宗教的な practices in schools to 演説(する)/住所 building '憤慨' in the system.

Andrew Copson, 長,指導者 (n)役員/(a)執行力のある of the Humanists UK charity, said: 'In the absence of 国家の 指導/手引 on 宗教的な practices in schools and of a serious 国家の discussion about 存在するing 法律s, 事例/患者s like this will continue to be brought. Schools shouldn't be left alone to を取り引きする this.

'Today's High 法廷,裁判所 judgment 要求するs serious thinking from the 政府 about how to 保護する the child's freedom of 宗教 or belief while also making sure our education system is fair and inclusive to all.

'We believe a first step should be to 解決する the wider 問題/発行する of 義務的な 集団の/共同の worship in schools and 取って代わる it with an inclusive form of 議会 that makes all pupils feel welcomed, while making reasonable accommodations for those who want to 個人として pray or worship where it doesn't (規則などを)破る/侵害する the 権利s and freedoms of others.

'Without such holistic attention, 憤慨 will continue to build within our school system.'

In January, lawyers for the pupil told the 裁判官 at a 審理,公聴会 that the '祈り 禁止(する)' unlawfully 違反d her 権利 to 宗教的な freedom, 追加するing that it made her feel 'like somebody 説 they don't feel like I 適切に belong here'.

The 法廷,裁判所 was told the pupil, referred to only as TTT, was making a 'modest' request to be 許すd to pray for around five minutes at lunch time, on dates when 約束 支配するs 要求するd it, but not during lessons.

The student also challenged 恐らく 不公平な 決定/判定勝ち(する)s to 一時的に 一時停止する her from school.

Mr Justice Linden dismissed the pupil's arguments against the prayer rituals ban?at the school

Mr 司法(官) Linden 解任するd the pupil's arguments against the 祈り rituals 禁止(する)?at the school

The school's lawyers (人命などを)奪う,主張するd its 祈り 政策 was '正当化するd' and 'proportionate' after it 直面するd death and 爆弾 脅しs linked t o 宗教的な observance on 場所/位置.

They 追加するd that the 知事s and headteacher at the school of some 700 pupils, about half of whom are イスラム教徒, had 'a 利ざや of latitude, discretion or judgment' over its 政策s.

During a two-day 審理,公聴会, the school's 創立者 and headteacher Katharine Birbalsingh said on social マスコミ that it was defending its 'culture and ethos' along with 決定/判定勝ち(する)s to '持続する a successful and stable learning 環境 where children of all races and 宗教s can 栄える'.

地位,任命するing on X, she said the school decided 'to stop 祈り rituals when some pupils started them, against a 背景 of events 含むing 暴力/激しさ, 脅迫 and appalling racial いやがらせ of our teachers'.

The 法廷,裁判所 was told that Ms Birbalsingh, a former 政府 social mobility tsar, first introduced the 政策 in March last year, with it 存在 支援するd by the 治める/統治するing 団体/死体 in May - 恐らく 'on the basis of misinformation and errors'.

In March 2023, up to 30 students began praying in the school's yard, using blazers to ひさまづく on.

Lawyers for the school said students seen praying outside 与える/捧げるd to a '一致した (選挙などの)運動をする' on social マスコミ over the school's approach to 宗教, with there also 存在 a since-除去するd online 嘆願(書) attracting thousands of 署名s.

The 法廷,裁判所 heard the school was 的d with death 脅しs, 乱用, '誤った' 主張s of Islamophobia, and a '爆弾 hoax'.

逆転するing the school's '緊急' 禁止(する) would again expose it to 'an 容認できない 危険 of 脅しs', its lawyers said, 追加するing that it 避けるd 'the logistical disruption and detriments to other school activities'.

The 法廷,裁判所 was told 'イスラム教徒 children were 観察するd to be 適用するing peer 圧力 to other イスラム教徒 children to 行為/法令/行動する in 確かな ways', with the school (人命などを)奪う,主張するing that 許すing 祈り rituals 危険d '土台を崩すing 傾向 and social cohesion between pupils'.

に引き続いて the 審理,公聴会, Ms Birbalsingh told The Sunday Times the 合法的な 過程 was 'taking a 大規模な (死傷者)数' and argued the school should 'be 許すd to be 世俗的な'.

She told the paper that the school will 'definitely 控訴,上告 if we lose', 追加するing: 'I will not divide children によれば race and 宗教; it will not happen under my watch.'

'A victory for all schools' : 十分な 声明 by Katharine Birbalsingh

に引き続いて the 法廷,裁判所 判決,裁定 today, Michaela Community School's headteacher Katharine Birbalsingh 問題/発行するd a 非常に長い 声明.?Here is her 返答 in 十分な:

'A school should be 解放する/自由な to do what is 権利 for the pupils it serves. The 法廷,裁判所's 決定/判定勝ち(する) is therefore a victory for all schools. Schools should not be 軍隊d by one child and her mother to change its approach 簡単に because they have decided they don't like something at the school.

'At Michaela, we 前向きに/確かに embrace small-c 保守的な values which millions of people, 含むing so many of our families and pupils, also value. Those values enable 驚くべき/特命の/臨時の academic 進歩.

'But they also 促進する a way of living, where 感謝, 機関 and personal 責任/義務, 拒絶 of 身元-politics victimhood, love of country, hard work, 親切, a 義務 に向かって others, self-sacrifice for the betterment of the whole, are 根底となる to who we are.

'Multiculturalism 作品 at Michaela not because we've emptied the 身元 space of the school ーするために 融通する difference, but because we have a (疑いを)晴らす 身元 which anyone can 調印する up to, if they are willing to 妥協.

'Michaela is a school that 作品 奇蹟s in London's inner city, 達成するing on 普通の/平均(する) nearly two-and-a-half grades higher at GCSE, with the best 進歩 8 得点する/非難する/20 for two years running, out of all of the 4,000 第2位 schools across the country.

'But our families choose Michaela not just because of the 驚くべき/特命の/臨時の learning and 接近 to social mobility that we 供給する. They choose Michaela because they recognise that our 伝統的な values create a school 環境 that is a joy to be in.

'Our children are happy and are friends with each other across racial and 宗教的な divides. Our 800 訪問者s a year can attest to this. All anyone needs to do to see this for themselves is 調印する up on our website for a visit.

'Ever since the idea of Michaela began in 2011, our detractors have railed against our strict 支配するs and 伝統的な values.

'Their patronising, paternalist, 'we know what's best for you' 進歩/革新的な thinking goes like this: 民族の 少数,小数派 families cannot かもしれない know what they want and have chosen and continue to choose for their children.

'Those choices must be made for them. We need to have the honesty to call that out. A 深い-seated progressivist 人種差別主義 燃料s the condescending belief that 民族の 少数,小数派s cannot think and choose for themselves. It is what has 許すd a particular 肉親,親類d of いじめ(る)ing 身元 politics to take such a 支配する of our country.

'More than 40 per cent of our pupils are siblings. In 2014, 30 per cent of our intake was イスラム教徒. It is now 50 per cent. We are over-subscribed. If our families d id not like the school, they would not 繰り返して choose to send their children to Michaela.

'At the two welcome events that all parents must …に出席する before sending their child to Michaela, I run through everything that makes Michaela different to other schools: constant 監督, family lunch, silent 回廊(地帯)s, no 祈り room, 平易な ways to get 拘留,拘置, strict uniform etc.

'If parents do not like what Michaela is, they do not need to send their children to us.

'Can it be 権利 for a family to receive £150,000 of taxpayer-基金d 合法的な 援助(する) to bring a 事例/患者 like this?

'The 裁判官 is (疑いを)晴らす that the child's 声明s were not written by her alone. Indeed, this mum ーするつもりであるs to send her second child to Michaela, starting in September. At the same time, this mum has sent a letter to our lawyers 示唆するing that she may take us to 法廷,裁判所 yet again over another 問題/発行する at the school she doesn't like, 推定では once again at the taxpayer's expense.

'People of all 宗教s tell me that Michaela is more Christian, more カトリック教徒, more Islamic, more ユダヤ人の, or more Hindu than schools they have seen どこかよそで.

'The 推論する/理由 for this is because our 強健な yet respectful secularism is 連合した to those 伝統的な values which all 宗教s 株. We all believe in the Michaela Way.

'In 会・原則s where secularism has come to mean an absence of belief, often 身元 politics fills the vacuum. Every 'community' is catered for in a way which 強調s differences between people and can unwittingly encourage victimhood.

'Ours is very much a strong belief in small-c 保守的な values where we all move に向かって a 株d goal, 拒絶するing victimhood, together. In our ever-more diverse society we at Michaela stand for those values which save us from the worst of the divisivenes s which 身元 politics engenders.

'Last year, we watched our イスラム教徒 pupils put under 圧力 by a tiny number of others to 急速な/放蕩な, to pray, to 減少(する) out of the choir, to wear a hijab.

'I watched one of my 黒人/ボイコット teachers 人種上 乱用d and 脅迫してさせるd, another teacher who had her personal home nearly broken into, and another with a brick thrown through her window.

'I have a 義務 of care to 保護する all of our pupils but also to my staff. There is a 誤った narrative that some try to paint about イスラム教徒s 存在 an 抑圧するd 少数,小数派 at our school. They are, in fact, the largest group. Those who are most at 危険 are other 少数,小数派s and イスラム教徒 children who are いっそう少なく observant.

'What does it mean to be the headmistress in a school which tries to 支持する our 株d British values when different 選挙区/有権者s within our diverse society want different, いつかs …に反対するing things, in the 指名する of their 宗教的な かかわり合いs?

'It means 申し込む/申し出ing what 部隊s us - those 株d values I 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる) above - and then asking everyone to 妥協 for the sake of that 株d communal 事業/計画(する).

'To the Jehovah 証言,証人/目撃するs: We teach Macbeth as a GCSE text, even though it has witches in it. To the イスラム教徒s: We don't have a 祈り room. To the Christians: We will 申し込む/申し出 改正 classes on Sundays. To the Hindus: The plates will have been touched by eggs.

'We are always (疑いを)晴らす about this: our 制限する building, strict ethos and 願望(する) to see multiculturalism 後継する mean that self-sacrifice is 要求するd. Parents, knowing this, have the freedom to make 知らせるd choices. This is who we are.

'At Michaela, we 推定する/予想する all 宗教s and all races to make the necessary sacrifices to enable our school to 栄える. The 広大な 大多数 do so without (民事の)告訴. We make the sacrifice of eating vegetarian f ood at lunch to enable us to break bread with each other across racial and 宗教的な divides.

'For those of you who take a 薄暗い 見解(をとる) of イスラム教徒s or multiculturalism, I would 勧める you to remember our hundreds of イスラム教徒 families who love our school.

'When we were in 法廷,裁判所, we fought to 保持する the マスコミ 禁止(する) - because the 脅し of 害(を与える) and the danger of 暴力/激しさ were 明確に very real. The member of the 圧力(をかける) in the courtroom who showed me the most compassion was イスラム教徒.

'It is more of a challenge for a multicultural school to 後継する. One need only look at the schools that 最高の,を越す the 進歩 8 chart: the 広大な 大多数 are 約束 schools of one 宗教.

'Schools that are 世俗的な and multicultural must be 許すd the same 権利 that 宗教的な schools have: the 権利 to まとまり, the 権利 to 拒絶する 分割, the 権利 to not have the 黒人/ボイコット group, the Hindu group, the イスラム教徒 group, the LGBT group etc.

'Everyone is welcome in our community but our community isn't an empty space - it has its own 身元 which we 招待する everyone to belong to. So we sing God Save The King because our country and our 旗 部隊 us.

'民族の 少数,小数派s should be able to identify as British. If we are 説 that 存在 an 民族の 少数,小数派 AND 存在 British are 相いれない, then as a nation we are in 深い trouble.

'At Michaela, we want our children to live lives of dignity, whether they 結局最後にはーなる poor or rich later in life. In 2024, we tend to believe that a school is successful によれば its exam results alone: the better the results, the better the 井戸/弁護士席-支払う/賃金ing 職業.

'But a life of meaning is not about 存在 rich. At Michaela we believe that 目的 and moral character 事柄, that there is such a thing as moral truth. Without moral truth, all you have is evolutionary biology in a 残虐な w orld where there is no 義務 for the strong to help the weak.

'When we tell our kids to be '最高の,を越す of the pyramid', our goal for them isn't to be the richest or the most famous or even the cleverest. It is to be someone who lives a life of moral 価値(がある) 形態/調整d by self-sacrifice, filled with 感謝 for what they have, and doing all they can to help those who have not.

'For 25 years I have been in school at 6.45am, working 12 to 15-hour days, always with おもに brown and 黒人/ボイコット kids from the inner city.

'Our detractors' narrative that I hate children, that I hate イスラム教徒 children, にもかかわらず more and more イスラム教徒 families choosing our school over the years and my own grandmother 存在 イスラム教徒, is 明確に nonsensical. I could easily do something いっそう少なく stressful and earn more money or 捜し出す 昇進/宣伝 どこかよそで.

'But I have chosen to stay with the Michaela 事業/計画(する) for 13+ years and I continue to fight to defend our way of life.

'Why? Because I believe in something bigger than myself.

'Michaela stands for values that 供給する us with a way of living through the good times and the bad, whether we are rich or poor, with GCSE grade 9s or grade 4s, whether we are white or 黒人/ボイコット, tall or short. At Michaela we 心にいだく and embrace these values for ALL of our pupils, whatever their race, whatever their 宗教.

'Strength and honour. God save the King.'
