初めの Bergerac 星/主役にする John Nettles 'miffed' showrunners still have not approached him about reboot

He became an Eighties sensation for his 役割 as the troubled womanising 探偵,刑事, Jim Bergerac.

But fans hoping to see John Nettles in the 演劇's modern reboot will be left disappointed, with the actor 説 he is 'miffed' showrunners 港/避難所't approached him.

The Mail on Sunday 排他的に 明らかにする/漏らすd 計画(する)s to 生き返らせる Bergerac, famously 始める,決める on the island of Jersey, which became a 抱擁する 攻撃する,衝突する for the BBC when its 初めの 10年間-long run began in 1981.

But, in an interview this 週末, the 星/主役にする said he has so far been ignored by TV bosses.

'I'm rather miffed they 港/避難所't been in touch at all,' he said.

生産者s of the series, which will begin 狙撃 this summer, are 約束ing a '同時代の 新たな展開' on the much-loved favourite. Much of it will be 発射 in Jersey and the series will 空気/公表する on UKTV and 演劇 channels.

Some of Britain's biggest 星/主役にするs have been linked with the 復活, 含むing Doctor Who's David Tennant, who is believed to have 表明するd a long-held 利益/興味 in the 役割, former Poldark actor Aidan Turner and Happy Valley's James Norton.

But Nettles was doubtful whether anyone could do 司法(官) to the 役割.

Asked who should play the part, he said: 'I have no idea. To be honest, I can't imagine anyone playing him but me.'

Nettles, who has since gone on to 星/主役にする in Midsomer 殺人s, also wondered whether the show could 後継する in a different political and social 気候.?He told The Daily Telegraph: 'I can't see how a reboot will work. The show belonged to Thatcherite Britain, to a time of 急速な/放蕩な money and beautiful girls.'

However, Nettles said he now thinks the 探偵,刑事's 態度 に向かって women was 'awful', 追加するing: 'I was channelling my younger self, I think. I was a child of the 1960s. An infantile sexuality characterised that time. The 態度s に向かって women were appalling throughout the 1950s and 1960s.'

But he 賞賛するd the 女性(の) cast in the 初めの series, which 含むd Celia Imrie and Louise Jameson, 説: '非,不,無 of them is your idea of a stereotypical decorative 女性(の).'
