More than 180,000 students going to university for the first time next September will get 認めるs, によれば John Denham, 国務長官 for 革新, Universities and 技術s. This 代表するs two-thirds of all next yea r's freshers and up 40,000 on this September's 人物/姿/数字.

Mr Denham 排他的に 明らかにする/漏らすd 詳細(に述べる)s of next year's student 一括 to Money Mail a week ahead of the 開始する,打ち上げる of a large 政府 advertising (選挙などの)運動をする 目的(とする)d at getting more young people to go to college.

The major change is that from next year, a student coming from a 世帯 with an income lower than £25,000 will get a 十分な 認める of £2,835 which will go に向かって their living expenses. 現在/一般に, only those from 世帯s with incomes of いっそう少なく than £18,000 get 十分な 認めるs.

And from next September, any student coming from a home with an income between £25,001 and £60,005 will get some 肉親,親類d of 認める: the previous 限界 was £38,000.

A 世帯 income of £34,450 would result in a 認める of £1,260; a 世帯 income of £50,000 results in a £524 認める. Only those from homes with income of more than £60,005 will receive nothing.

Mr Denham said: 'These changes are very important. They mean that two-thirds of students going to college next September will get 認めるs. The 重要な things we are trying to get across, 特に for those from lower-income householdsis that there should be no 財政上の 障壁 to going on to その上の education.

'We can't say that some have decided not to go to university because of their 財政/金融s, but this change should mean it becomes いっそう少なく of a 関心 for many would-be students and their families.

'This is a 重要な change and should encourage more to go to university. Our 的 is for 50% of 18-year-olds to go to university - 現在/一般に we are at about 43% to 44%. When I went to college in the 早期に Seventies, it was just 10%.'

In September 2007, about 274,000 went to university for the first time and, of these, just over half got some 肉親,親類d of 認める. A 類似の number is 推定する/予想するd to start college in September 2008 and, thanks to the changes in 限界s on family income, two-thirds will get a 認める.

認めるs for students already at university will be far lower. So, for example, those who started 熟考する/考慮するing this year and who will be starting their second year in 2008-9 will get a 十分な 認める only if their family income is いっそう少なく than £18,360; if the income is over £39,905 there will be no 認める.

認めるs are for 維持/整備 costs - day-to-day living and rent. However, students still have to 支払う/賃金 tuition 料金s and in 2008-9 these will be up to £3,145 a year. Students can take out a student 貸付金 to cover the 十分な cost of tuition 料金s and the sum is paid 直接/まっすぐに to the university or college.

In 新規加入, students can also take out student 貸付金s for 維持/整備 which can be up to £6,475 for those from poorer homes.

現在/一般に, 卒業生(する)s have to start 返すing 貸付金s from the April after they 卒業生(する) as long as they are 収入 more than £15,000. 利益/興味 accrues at the 率 of インフレーション for March - so those with 現在の 優れた 貸付金s are having 4.8% 利益/興味 追加するd to their 優れた 貸付金s. But Mr Denham said a 根底となる change will take place in the 返済 of student 貸付金s.

'For those who are going to college next year, we will be making 返すing student 貸付金s more 柔軟な. They will have the 選択 of taking a five-year break from 返すing their 貸付金s,' he said. So far, there are no 詳細(に述べる)s on how this would work.
