The 視察官 gets a first look at Oxford's 最新の hotel - from where you can 'almost touch the dreaming spires'

You can smell the paint. Everything is fresh, clean, 招待するing. It’s day two at The 蓄える/店, a 101-room hotel in central Oxford, so-指名するd as it 占領するs what was Boswells, which opened in 1738, 貿易(する)ing in luggage.

Today it sells pared-支援する, comfortable rooms, おもに in white with nothing on the 塀で囲むs, some with balconies from where you can almost touch the ‘dreaming spires’. Trinity College is just across the road.

There’s a 15 per cent 開始 割引 and, space permitting, everyone is 昇格d. Even so, The 蓄える/店 is pricey, with rooms starting at nearly £300.

Treadwell is the cheerful restaurant at the 支援する of the building, with a separate 入り口 from the 歩行者 管区. The chef likes his burnt chilli and crispy shallots. They feature in my delicious asparagus starter and the マグロ steak - and appear again at breakfast with my 緊急発進するd eggs and bacon muffin.
