Tourist bosses 促進する delights of フラン - with a picture of a South African beach


French 観光旅行,事業 bosses have spent more than £500,000 on an 広告 (選挙などの)運動をする to showcas e the delights of northern フラン and its Mediterranean coast - only to realise that some of the pictures used are of a South African beach.

The three-week-long 昇進/宣伝 featured newspaper adverts and saw 23 posters spread around the London 地下組織の in a 企て,努力,提案 to 誘惑する British holidaymakers over to フラン during the Olympics.

But in an embarrassing mix-up, the advertising 機関 used an image of a beach in Cape Town - thousands of miles from フラン - for two of the posters.

One shows a family racing along the sand with a sport-関係のある 'humorous' スローガン, ‘Sprint finish on the Northern フラン Coast', with 激しく揺するs along the shore.

But the beach used in the poster was that of Llandudno, a 郊外 of Cape Town.

Eagle-注目する,もくろむd London fashion photographer Bradford Bird, who grew up there, recognised the familiar outcrop of 激しく揺するs.

Mr Bird said: ‘I recognised the beach as soon as I saw it. I thought "that’s a little bit cheeky" and put a picture of the billboard up on my Facebook page.’

It appears the beach also forms the 背景 to another poster, from a different angle, with the スローガン: 'Discus on the Mediterranean Coast'.

観光旅行,事業 公式の/役人s have 取って代わるd the ‘Northern フラン’ image on their website www.gotofrancenow.com after 存在 made aware of the gaffe.

The British advertising 機関 in 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金 of the (選挙などの)運動をする has taken 責任/義務 for the 出来事/事件, 説 that images were selected from a bank of 3,000 在庫/株 photographs of French beaches.

A sub-search subsequently 最高潮の場面d images from around the world, it said.

This is not the first time a tourist board has fallen foul of the same mistake.

In March 2009, a Spanish tourist board used a picture of a 楽園 beach in Perth, Western Australia, to 促進する the Costa Brava.

The organisation had a lso only recently 孤立した an 広告 (選挙などの)運動をする that used pictures of the Bahamas to 促進する Girona, the Spanish 州 where the Costa Brava is 位置を示すd.

They were said to be '孤立するd 出来事/事件s'.
