Buckingham Palace will be guarded by FRENCH 兵士s for the first time in history - all to 示す 120 years of friendly relations between Britain and 'the old enemy'

For the first time in history Buckingham Palace will be guarded by French 軍隊/機動隊s in a 演習 認可するd by King Charles to 示す 120 years of friendly relations.

In April of 1904 an 協定 known as the Entente Cordiale was decided between the 部隊d Kingdom and the French 共和国 that settled a number of 議論の的になる 事柄s and 改善するd Anglo-French relations.

To 示す this 周年記念日 French 軍隊/機動隊s will guard Buckingham Palace at Monday's Changing the Guard 儀式.

The forecourt of Buckingham Palace will see 32 French soliders from the 共和国の/共和党の Guard of the 国家の Gendarmerie join 40 Guardsmen from F Company Scots Guards to parade the grounds together.

Sixteen 兵士s from Number 7 Company Coldstream Guards will join 軍隊/機動隊s from 1er 連隊 de la Garde Republicaine to 供給する the 大統領の Guard outside the Elysee Palace, in what will be the first ever example of a foreign 明言する/公表する guarding the French 大統領の 住居.

On Friday, British and French 軍隊/機動隊s were seen rehearsing at the Wellington 兵舎 which is where they are staying whilst they are here.

The 儀式, which will take place at 11am, will see the group of 兵士s 伝統的に relieved by a new detachment of 軍隊/機動隊s in 前線 of an audience of 40 VIPs.

They will be 検査/視察するd by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the UK 長,指導者 of General Staff (CGS), General Sir Patrick やすりを削る人/削る機械s, the French 長,指導者 of the Army Staff, General Pierre Schill, and the French 外交官/大使 to the UK Helene Duchene.

The Gendarmerie will be marched on and off the Buckingham Palace forecourt by the 禁止(する)d of the Grenadier Guards, who will also 成し遂げる both countries' 国家の 国家s and a programme of Anglo-French music.

While the Gendarmerie will 参加する in the 古代の 儀式, they will not take the place of their British 相当するものs in guarding the King. This 責任/義務 is only afforded to members of the British 武装した 軍隊s and 連邦/共和国 軍隊/機動隊s.
