Hard shoulders should be 復帰させるd on smart motorways, the RAC has said.

The first stretch of all-小道/航路 running (ALR) smart motorway ? using the hard shoulder as a 永久の live traffic 小道/航路 ? opened on the M25 in Hertfordshire ten years ago.

ALR smart motorways 目的(とする) to 増加する capacity at a lower cost than 広げるing roads.

AA: Don't let young new drivers carry their friends?

Young drivers should be banned from carrying 乗客s of a 類似の age for at least six months after passing their 実験(する), the AA has told the 政府.

It wants a 卒業生(する)d licence 計画/陰謀 introduced as a safety 手段 to 削減(する) 'needless deaths' 伴う/関わるing inexperienced drivers.

It follows a 国家の 主要道路s 報告(する)/憶測 published in December that 設立する smart motorways without a hard shoulder were three times more dangerous to break 負かす/撃墜する on than those with an 緊急 小道/航路.

The 熟考する/考慮する also showed that the 率 of 'killed and serious 傷害' (KSI) 出来事/事件s during 決裂/故障s on smart motorways with no 永久の hard shoulder has 増加するd by 10 per cent.

These were the M1 junctions 39 to 42, M25 junctions 5 to 7 and M6 junctions 11A to 13.

In April last year Mr Sunak 発表するd he was 停止(させる)ing new smart motorways from 存在 built.

But he stopped short of scrapping more than 400 miles of 存在するing 計画/陰謀s which have their hard shoulder 永久的に 除去するd.

A Department for 輸送(する) 広報担当者 said: 'We recognise the need for the public to feel 安全な 運動ing, and have cancelled 計画(する)s for all new smart motorway 計画/陰謀s.'
