A 顧問 gynaecologist who sterilised a new mother?without her 許可 while in a middle of a cesarean section has been 一時停止するd for a year.

Dr Olusegun Lawrence Olujide had 'no excuse' to carry out an 'outdated' 手続き on the 女性(の) 患者 during the birth of her baby at the 王室の Hampshire 郡 Hospital, in Winchester.?

He had not received 許可 from the 患者 and there was no 臨床の justification for doing it without 同意, a disciplinary 審理,公聴会 was told.

Dr Olujide also failed to tell 同僚s that he ーするつもりであるd to carry out the sterilisation and then didn't 知らせる the woman afterwards that he had done so.

At the 審理,公聴会, Katie Nowell, counsel for the General 医療の 会議, said that the method that Dr Olujide used to sterilise the 患者, the 使用/適用 of diathermy to the fallopian tubes, is outdated.

She also said that he had shown '限られた/立憲的な reflection' に引き続いて the 出来事/事件, and that he had failed to identify where 正確に/まさに he had gone wrong - although she did say he had now apologised to the 患者.

The 法廷 decided that Dr Olujide's fitness to practice has been impaired, with the 法廷 deciding t o 一時停止する him from practicing for 12 months.

Dr Olujide asked for the 中断 period to begin in 28 days time, 許すing 患者s under his care to be transferred to a different doctor in a timely and responsive manner.

Ms Nowell 追加するd that the GMC was not calling for Dr Olujide to be 一時停止するd すぐに, 説 that it had not received any (民事の)告訴s about his 行為/行う since the 出来事/事件 in August 2020.

'Through them, we were able to take 即座の 活動/戦闘 to 確実にする other 患者s were not put at 危険 and we could give our sincerest 陳謝s to the 患者 and explain what had happened.

'We 尊敬(する)・点 the 決定/判定勝ち(する) made by the General 医療の 会議 and the その上の scrutiny 供給するd through their 法廷, and we can 確認する that Dr Olujide will not be 復帰させるd by Hampshire Hospitals.
