A mother-of-two has transformed her 1970s house into a £2.6million mansion.

Claire Totman, 38, bought the three bedroom 所有物/資産/財産 with her mum, Liz, 71, for £875,000.

But the designer has transformed the 淡褐色 house into a luxurious 小型の stately home and?追加するd £1.7m to its value in the 過程.

The designer from Weybridge, Surrey had a 見通し to remodel the outdated 所有物/資産/財産 into an 'elegant' and 'timeless' home.

Ms Totman spent £460,000 on her 抱擁する 事業/計画(する), spending more than eight months 延長するing the house at the 味方する, 支援する and roof to create four large bedrooms, and an 付加 製図/抽選 room.

Now the mum-of-two says the house has been valued at £2.6million.

Ms Totman, who runs her own company, Claire Totman designs, said: 'The 初めの house is still there.

'People think it is a new build.

'Our style is classic, 伝統的な and a modern 新たな展開.

'It elegant and timeless.

'We don't follow the 傾向s, because a 傾向 is a 傾向.'

The mother-of two had been 利益/興味d in design ever since she was young and built her way up to become a design 経営者/支配人.

But when the company she worked for went under, Ms Totman took the 適切な時期 to start her own 商売/仕事 in the summer of 2016.

This is not the first fa mily 事業/計画(する) she's taken on.

Ms Totman helped design three of her mum's previous homes but had a big 見通し when they bought Sandacre house off market in October 2019.

The designer started the 革新s in February 2020 and kept the structure of the 初めの house.

She said: 'We 延長するd at the 後部 and 味方する. We 取って代わるd the windows and built a porch.

'We took off the roof structure and 取って代わるd it to 許す habitable space.

'We did a nice gut 職業 inside.'

Ms Totman spent £460,000 on all the 革新s in 2020 - but says she was able to get minimise costs by getting things cheaper through her design 商売/仕事.
