STOCK markets around the world were in celebratory mood after the 逮捕（する） of Iraqi 独裁者 Saddam Hussein.

Japan's Nikkei (1)偽造する／(2)徐々に進むd ahead by 321.11 points - its second biggest one-day 伸び（る） of the year - and the FTSE 100 索引 （機の）カム within a whisker of 4400 as inves tors in London took up the baton. The Dow opened almost 100 points higher in New York this afternoon before losing some of that. But it was still able to 強固にする／合併する／制圧する above 10,000. The Footsie ended below its best with a rise of 0.4 to 4348 points in thin 容積／容量.

仲買人 WestLB Panmure said the 貿易（する）ing 声明 was 概して in line with 期待s, but there was 失望 that no 株 buyback was 発表するd. 競争相手 HBOS rose 10 1/2p to 718p ahead of tomorrow's 貿易（する）ing update.
