The London 株式市場 saw a 騒然とした day of 貿易（する）ing, but once again its 結局の direction was dictated by the US.

The FTSE-100 索引 climbed 堅固に in the first few hours, at one point 伸び（る）ing 47 points, but slipped 支援する all the way to its 開始 by noon.

The picture for other telecoms 在庫／株s was mixed. Colt Telecom was up 25p to £12.30 and BT up 26p to 948p.

But Telewest fell 5 1/2p to 233 1/2p and Energis dipped 33p to £14.67.

株 in Emerald sparkled 1/2p to 4 1/2p.

Unigate put on a strong rise after it 堅固に 解任するd newspaper 報告（する）／憶測s that it was 始める，決める to lose its 価値のある milk 契約 with Tesco. Unigate fell 3% Thursday on the 報告（する）／憶測, but 殺到するd up 9% - 伸び（る）ing 30p to 355p - as it 問題／発行するd its 否定.

The 契約 to 供給する live c overage of Cricket for Channel 4 has 上げるd the profile of The Television 会社／団体 and results 問題／発行するd today made the company the 焦点（を合わせる） of 仲買人s' attention.

A 35% 落ちる in first half 利益（をあげる）s was せいにするd to exceptional 告発（する），告訴（する）／料金s and the market took a 上昇傾向 見解（をとる） of the company prospects sending 株 9p higher to 294p.

And 株 in carpet yarn 製造者 Lyles （期間が）わたる 上向きs as the tiny company 発表するd it had received a 60p a 株 申し込む／申し出. Lyles' 株 rose to within a whisker of the 申し込む／申し出 price - up 14p to 58p.

The main risers in the FTSE-100 were Billiton up 9 1/2p to 250p, HSBC up 27 1/2p to 742p, Diageo up 21p to 657p, Hanson up 14p to 473p.
