An 年輩の British man who smothered his dementia-苦しむing wife to death in a 'mercy 殺人,大当り' before 試みる/企てるing to take his own life after believing they had 'lived too long' has been 刑務所,拘置所d for nine years in Australia.

Donald Morley, 93, 窒息させるd his lifelong partner ジーンズ, 92, with a pillow in their Fisher, Canberra home after they emigrated from the UK to Australia 50 years ago.??

The man, who is 推定する/予想するd to die within just six months 予定 to?the 'grievous 明言する/公表する of health', was 宣告,判決d on Monday with a 非,不,無-仮釈放(する) period of four-and-a-half-years over the death of his wife of 69 years in July 2023.

The 宣告,判決 comes four months after Morley pleaded 有罪の to his wife's 殺人.

司法(官) Mossop told the 法廷,裁判所 it was unfortunate the married couple did not have any younger people in their lives, such as children, to help them with their challenges.
