Mammoth review: This 70s 遺物 衝突，墜落s through life like Alan Partridge in a tracksuit, 令状s ROLAND WHITE

We all know we are not supposed to tell jokes about sex or race or pretty much any of the things people laughed at during the 1970s.
But there is a way that it's still 許すd on television comedy. All you have to do is bring somebody from that colourful １０年間 支援する to life and poke fun at them. The テレビ視聴者s get the old gags, and the BBC 持続するs the moral high ground. 勝利，勝つ, 勝利，勝つ.
Mammoth should really have one of those mealy-mouthed 警告s: 'This programme was 奮起させるd by the 1970s and may 含む／封じ込める the language and 態度s of its time. Shame on you if you laughed at this sort of thing first time 一連の会議、交渉／完成する, you gammon-直面するd bigot.'
The hero, Tony Mammoth, was a PE teacher in 1979 when he took a class on a ski trip and disappeared in an 雪崩／（抗議などの）殺到. Forty years later, he is discovered alive in the snow. Thank you, 全世界の warming.

He spent last night's episode trying to 勝利，勝つ over his daughter in his usual ham-握りこぶしd way, but there was a poignant moment at the end when she called him Dad, even though he had just gatecrashed her birthday party on a white horse?
It's been done before in Life On 火星, Woody Allen's Sleeper, and Austin 力／強力にするs, and the jokes are pretty much what you might 推定する／予想する. Mammoth 衝突，墜落s his way through modern life with everybody cringing around him.
支援する in his old 職業, he is Alan Partridge in a tracksuit, but gets away with it because writer マイク Bubbins, who also plays Mammoth, gives his 星／主役にする a 確かな charm.
At the end of last week's 開始 episode, he discovered that the pushiest parent in the school is 現実に his daughter. A clever 新たな展開, which means that the only boy who brings a 公式文書，認める from his mum to PE is his grandson.

Was this perhaps a 言及／関連 to the old whisky advert: 'You can take a white horse anywhere.' Because, にもかかわらず poking fun at the past, this series is also a 尊敬の印 to that １０年間, which has had mixed reviews.
The 開始 credits, for example, are 明確に 奮起させるd by Dallas (they do that thing where the 審査する 分裂（する）s into three). The music over the end credits was 選ぶ Up The Pieces, by the 普通の／平均（する） White 禁止（する）d, which I think I last heard in about 1976.
And Mammoth, clumsy though he might be, is much more fun than any of his judgemental, modern 同僚s.
It's not giving much away by 明らかにする／漏らすing that next week's episode begins with the 開始 music from Saturday Night Fever: 'You can tell from the way I use my walk, I'm a woman's man, no time to talk.'
Perhaps an 専門家 on The Bee Gees can settle the に引き続いて question, which has always puzzled me. How, 正確に／まさに, can you tell that by the way a man walks?
