Making a franchise work

Franchising is not a short-削減(する) to riches and fortune. It takes hard work, dedication and かかわり合い to make a success of it -? just as it does with any 商売/仕事 idea.

The advantage that you have in franchising is that you are てこ入れ/借入資本ing the brand of a bigger organisation and 利益ing from the input that they can give you - in the form of design, advertising, marketing, sales advice and training.

Many companies that operate as franchises belong to the British Franchise 協会. This is an accreditation 団体/死体 that makes sure 可能性のある franchisors (the companies) follow a 始める,決める of 指導基準s.

If a company is not a BFA member, it does not mean they are disreputable, but they won't have followed the 協会's 指導基準s and you may need to take professional advice to 確実にする that you don't trip up.

World Domination: Has your franchise got what it takes to surpass the likes of McDonalds?

World 支配: Has your franchise got what it takes to より勝る the likes of McDonalds?

Here is a 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる) of questions you might need to know the answers to before you 追求する your franchising dreams.

1. Is the 商売/仕事 viable?

Many companies have come to the UK with a 見解(をとる) to setting up a na tionwide chain of 出口s, only to find that the country wasn't ready for their 製品 or that 前提s were too hard to find or the 競争 was too 激しい. Make sure the 商売/仕事 franchise 適切な時期 is really as good as it sounds.

2. Is it 合法的な and 倫理的な?

There are plenty of scam ideas around, with fraudsters 申し込む/申し出ing 広大な sums of money for 'work at home' franchises. These are not proper franchises and, in many 事例/患者s, are 簡単に a ruse for separating you from your money.

3. Has anyone else made it 後継する?

Find out who else operates this franchise in the UK. Are they successful and are the costs and 歳入s 心配するd by the franchisor 現実主義の?

4. Can I see the accounts of the franchisor?

You should be able to see the 財政上の 記録,記録的な/記録するs of the franchisor's 商売/仕事 and see how it 作品. Is it successful? What 財政上の 発射/推定s is it making and do these stack up with the 約束s you have been made? Does the 商売/仕事 appear 有能な of supporting the marketing, advertising and training that it has 約束d you?

?

5. Have you seen what else is out there?

Go to a franchise events such as the British Franchise 展示, Fanchise 適切な時期s Live or the 国家の Franchise 展示.

This will give you the chance to see lots of other 商売/仕事 適切な時期s under one roof, and 会合,会う other people with experience of taking on a franchise.

6. What about 競争

Compare the 適切な時期 you're having with those 利用できる どこかよそで. Does the 製品 you're going to be selling compare 井戸/弁護士席 with the 対立?How difficult will it be to find 顧客s? Are other franchisees operating 首尾よく?

7. Are you 用意が出来ている to make it work?

Franchising is not an 平易な 選択 and it can fail just like any other 不成功の 操作/手術.

If you've 投資するd your home in it, you could lose it just as if any other 商売/仕事 v enture was 財政/金融d by putting your home on the line. You should be 用意が出来ている for a lot of hard work to make it 後継する.

Remember also that you won't be the only person 株ing in your success if everything goes to 計画(する).

8. Can you stick to a careful 予算?

Some franchises make (疑いを)晴らす what your 最大限 歳入s are likely to be - so if your main 動機づけ in setting up a franchise is your need to earn a lot of money, don't do one that's ありそうもない to bring in more than £10,000 a year.

9. Will you make enough money?

Check the 財政上の 発射/推定s carefully because your 行う/開催する/段階 支払い(額)s to the franchisor will be going out anyway. If your 商売/仕事 isn't making sales 的s, you'll find yourself massively out of pocket if you're not careful. Get your accountant or lawyer to check the numbers in 詳細(に述べる).

10. Do you need previous experience?

Don't panic if you don't have the requisite 製品 技術s. Few franchisees will have run a burger restaurant before they took on a McDonald's franchise. Likewise, if you take on a Specsavers franchise, you don't need to be a qualified optician. What does 事柄 is that the franchisor 供給するs training to get you up to 速度(を上げる).

What you are running is a 商売/仕事, the actual 製品s 事柄 いっそう少なく than the 概念 itself. If your franchisor is responsible, you should get all the help and support you need to get off the ground - because it's their 指名する on the line if it all goes pear-形態/調整d.
