There was 理解できる 救済 when Princess Beatrice’s year-long romance with American playboy Paolo Liuzzo finally broke apart in 2006.

Beatrice was just 17 at the time. Liuzzo, a polo-playing socialite, was seven years her 上級の and 充てるd to the sort of hard-partying lifestyle 保証（人）d to 原因（となる） 重要な 当惑 to the 王室のs.

At one point he'd been 告発（する），告訴（する）／料金d with 過失致死 and 所有／入手 of コカイン. Another time, he was 罪人／有罪を宣告するd of affray.

Even Beatrice's perpetually sunny mother, Sarah Ferguson, saw the downside of Paolo, 公式文書，認めるing of her eldest daughter that, 'We all have our own 旅行s and have to learn our way.'

The Princess was said to have been heartbroken when this, her first serious romance, 崩壊（する）d. And some of that 悲しみ returned, say friends, when Beatrice learned of Liuzzo's sad death at the age of 41.

The man she'd once loved had been 設立する in Miami hotel room, killed by a 嫌疑者，容疑者／疑うd overdose of 麻薬s.

As Beatrice remembers Paolo in the coming weeks, however, she might be forgiven if she takes a moment to 反映する on another past 関係 ? one that lasted rather longer and seemed to 保証（人） wedding bells, in fact.

But one which left Prince Andrew's daughter anguished, 攻撃を受けやすい and depressed when, after a １０年間 of waiting, it finally ran into the sand.

In Dave Clark, a clean-削減（する）, tech-savvy entrepreneur, Beatrice thought she had 設立する true love and, for many years, they seemed inseparable.

If Liuzzo was never a 競争相手, there was much to recommend his 交替／補充. For a start, Beatrice had been introduced to him by her cousin, Prince William.

Moving in the same 豊富な circles, the two men had met each other when they 熟考する／考慮するd in Scotland?? Clark, now 38, at Edinburgh University and William, 41, at St Andrews.

Known as 'Dashing Dave', Clark 連合させるd good looks, 平易な charm and a transatlantic accent, the result of growing up in a family that lived between London and New York.

He had friends in ありふれた with the Yorks, 含むing Sam Branson, son of multimillionaire entrepreneur, Sir Richard, and spent time on Necker, the Bransons' 私的な Caribbean island.

The Duke and Duchess of York seemed pleased that their little girl had 設立する someone so appropriate.

'I love Dave. He's 冷静な／正味の,' Sarah Ferguson cooed in a 2008 magazine interview, two years into her daughter's new 関係. 'I call him Mr Smiley because he smiles and he's happy.'

To many of their friends ? and certainly to Beatrice herself ? this felt like the real 取引，協定.

Rarely apart, the couple graced an endless if predictable 一連の会議、交渉／完成する of ヨット parties, ski chalets and upmarket social gath erings?? although they were not together, it should be said, at more formal 王室の occasions.

Ever loyal, Beatrice followed Dave to both coasts of America as he 追求するd his tech career. At one point she 入会させるd in a 財政／金融 course in San Francisco, before に引き続いて him to Manhattan and taking a 職業 there in 投資 banking.

There was growing 不信 in 王室の circles, in particular, 含むing a 疑惑 that Beatrice's 関係s impressed Clark a little more than they should have done.

Perhaps mindful of his cousin's past entanglement with Paolo, William is said to have been 保護の of Beatrice and told friends he didn't feel Clark was 権利 for her.

'It's 安全な to say he is no longer in 王室の circles. Everyone was surprised by how quickly he moved on. Some were appalled.

'Lynn was willowy and elegant, stylish, 井戸／弁護士席-connected and 豊富な: it's every jilted woman's worst nightmare.'

If the break-up was hard for Beatrice, there are plenty who feel her vulnerability had been growing throughout the 関係.

'Beatrice was very timid and insecure at that time. In hindsight, perhaps Dave didn't bring out the best in her に向かって the end,' says the friend.

She also 設立する herself teased about the number of holidays she was taking around this time?? 17 trips in one year alone.

Beatrice 結局 settled into an 平易な-going, Ibiza-loving （人が）群がる, 含むing James Blunt and his wife Sofia Wellesley.

She re-設立するd a career, becoming 副／悪徳行為-大統領，／社長 of 共同s and 戦略 at start-up 会社／堅い Afiniti, a data and ソフトウェア company, which saw her jet between New York and London as a high-飛行機で行くing businesswoman.

運命／宿命 would 結局 bring Beatrice together with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. He was rather more suitable than Paolo Liuzzo ? and more committed than Dave Clark.

Fun-loving but serious, like Beatrice, Edo was stylish an d handsome. He was 井戸／弁護士席-connected, too, 連合させるing a good 郡 family with Italian nobility.

Edo 提案するd in 2019 and one year later they had a 静かな wedding at All Saints Chapel, Windsor.

It helped that the late Queen 認可するd. She lent Beatrice one of her own gowns for the wedding day and 提起する／ポーズをとるd for pictures outside the church with Prince Philip.

Today, say friends, the Princess is a different woman: happier, self-保証するd?? and more stylish, too.

There's a baby daughter, Sienna, 老年の two, and an eight-year-old stepson, Wolfie, from Edo's previous 関係.

Beatrice is chatelaine of her own country house on the 辛勝する／優位 of the Blenheim Palace 広い地所, which she frequently visits to see her friend George Blandford ? 相続人 to the 広い地所 ? and his wife.
