Slow cookers have 急に上がるd in popularly ever since energy prices began to rise, with the perception that they use いっそう少なく energy than a lightbulb.

In fact, 実験（する）s have 明らかにする／漏らすd that induction hobs use 意味ありげに いっそう少なく energy and are cheaper to run when it comes to some cooking 仕事s.

Which? carried out two 実験s to see how the methods compared ーに関して／ーの点でs of cooking time, energy used and the total cost of this energy.

The first 伴う／関わるd making vegetable soup, while the second 焦点（を合わせる）d on beef stew.

In both 事例／患者s, the old adage 'slow and 安定した 勝利，勝つs the race' certainly didn't come to fruition, as the induction hob 証明するd superior in every 部類.?

Which? calculated the energy that was used based on the length of time it took make each dish, then equated this to a cost based on the 現在の 普通の／平均（する） price of a 部隊 of energy under the 政府's Energy Price 保証（人） ― 34p per kWh.

The slow cooker took 182 minutes to make the vegetable soup, which 伴う／関わるd using an 概算の 0.901 kWh of energy.

As 推定する／予想するd, the induction hob was much quicker.

Using this method took just 26 minutes by comparison, and because of this, the energy use was much lower?― at 0.273 kWh.

When putting a price on this energy use, the soup cost more than three times as much to make with the slow cooker than the induction hob.

It wasn't just in cost, energy use and time that the induction hob was 勝利を得た, it was also みなすd 'perfect' on the tastebuds thanks to its '井戸／弁護士席-cooked vegetables and smooth consistency after pur?eing', によれば Which's 専門家 testers.

The soup from the slow cooker was also 井戸／弁護士席-cooked but not as smooth, the 消費者 group said, and was also very '厚い as too much liquid evaporated during cooking'.

The stew took just over an hour and a half on the induction hob and cost 23p in energy, while the slow cooker took around four hours and cost nearly t wice as much ーに関して／ーの点でs of heating.

This time the induction hob didn't have things all its own way, however.

専門家s have 以前 設立する that a 圧力 cooker is the cheapest and quickest way to roast a chicken, taking 32 minutes and costing a tiny 11p - 28p cheaper than the electric oven

That's because Which's lab 専門家s 設立する that the stew made in the slow cooker was わずかに better than the one cooked on the induction hob.?

Although the vegetables were a little overcooked, the meat was tender and the stew had a good consistency, the 消費者 group said.

By comparison, the stew made on the induction hob 'was too thin and the meat was a little 乾燥した，日照りの'.

This is not the first time that Which? has looked at how energy efficient different kitchen 器具s are.

'However if you're thinking of buying one to help save energy and you already own an induction hob, it might not be 価値（がある） it as our 実験（する）ing 設立する induction hobs use いっそう少なく energy to make the same meals, making them cheaper to run.'

She 追加するd: 'Slow cookers do come with 追加するd convenience, as you can get a bowl of steaming hot soup without having to stand watch over a saucepan, although the cooking 過程 can take a few hours.'

In 結論, Which? said that if you already own an induction hob, it makes sense t o use it for cooking things such as soups and stews, rather than 投資するing in a slow cooker 特に to carry out these 職業s.?

However, the 消費者 group said that 'slow cookers do have the 追加するd advantage of 存在 able to chuck everything in and do something else while you wait'.
