Scientists believe they have made the first ever 記録，記録的な／記録するing of a tree gasping for water.

Just as humans make a noise as they 猛烈に try to gulp 空気／公表する, living trees make ultrasonic popping noises as they draw in as much moisture as possible to 生き残る during a 干ばつ.

The sounds are a hundred times faster than can be heard by the human ear, but a team led by French physicist Philippe Marmottant at Grenoble University believe they have been able to slow the 過程 負かす／撃墜する 十分に to be heard during a 最近の lab 実験.

The gel was then exposed to an artificially 乾燥した，日照りの 環境, and the 研究員s listened in as the 支持を得ようと努めるd began to make popping sounds.

The noise comes from 空気／公表する 泡s rising up and then disappearing, a 過程 called cavitation.

As leaves on a tree collect 炭酸ガス, they open their pores, leaving them 攻撃を受けやすい to losing water.

To 中和する／阻止する this, trees collect water from the ground through their root system.

The 成果／努力 of trying to pull this moisture in from the ground creates the 空気／公表する 泡s.

'We can 跡をつける the articulation of 泡s, and what we 設立する is the 大多数 of the sounds that we hear are linked to 泡s,' said Mr Marmottant.

Scientists are now racing to try and come u p with 器具／備品 有能な of listening to these unique sounds created by nature.

It will also 証明する useful because these 空気／公表する 泡s can 封鎖する the flow of water in living trees and 証明する deadly.

Mr Marmottant said he is in 早期に discussions with biologists to produce a sensor.

'These biologists have good experience to do this, so we hope that our 熟考する／考慮する will bring some new （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） about the sounds that could be heard in trees,' he said.
