June joins May as hottest EVER as 専門家s 警告する 'this is what 全世界の warming looks like'

The Earth is on a hot streak after setting a 全世界の heat 記録,記録的な/記録する in June - just months after breaking the same 記録,記録的な/記録する in May.

The 国家の 大洋の and Atmospheric 行政 発表するd that last month's 普通の/平均(する) 全世界の 気温 was 61.2 degrees, which is 1.3 degrees higher than the 20th century 普通の/平均(する).

WHAT IS EL NINO

El Ni?o 言及するs to a 始める,決める of 条件s when the surface of the sea in an area along the 赤道 in the central and eastern 太平洋の Ocean becomes hotter than usual.

The 普通の/平均(する) water 気温 in that area is typically between 1 and 3°C (だいたい 2 and 5°F) warmer than normal during this event.

This has the 影響 of 追加するing 抱擁する 量s of heat and moisture into the atmosphere, 最終的に 影響する/感情ing patterns of 空気/公表する 圧力 and 降雨 across the 太平洋の and globally.

Strong El Ni?o events occur every 20 years or so, but 研究員s recently said this could 減少(する) to 10 years thanks to 全世界の warming.

At the opposite end of the 規模, La Ni?a is the climatological 相当するもの to El Ni?o.

La Ni?a 言及するs to periods when sea-surface 気温s around the 赤道 are cooler than normal.

This has a 類似の 影響する/感情 on 空気/公表する 圧力 and 降雨 because it 抑えるs how much heat and moisture enters the atmosphere.

While one-twentieth of a degree doesn't sound like much, in 気温 記録,記録的な/記録するs it's like winning a horse race by several lengths, said NOAA 気候 監視するing 長,指導者 Derek Arndt.

The world's oceans not only broke a 月毎の heat 記録,記録的な/記録する at 62.7 degrees, but it was the hottest the oceans have been on 記録,記録的な/記録する no 事柄 what the month, Arndt said.

'We are living in the steroid 時代 of the 気候 system,' Arndt said.

Arndt said both the June and May 記録,記録的な/記録するs were driven by 異常に hot oceans, 特に the 太平洋の and Indian oceans.

Heat 記録,記録的な/記録するs in June broke on every continent but Antarctica, 特に in New Zealand, northern South America, Greenland, central Africa and southern Asia.

The 部隊d 明言する/公表するs had only its 33rd hottest June.

All 12 of the world's 月毎の heat 記録,記録的な/記録するs have been 始める,決める after 1997, more than half in the last 10年間.

All the 全世界の 冷淡な 月毎の 記録,記録的な/記録するs were 始める,決める before 1917.

And with a likely El Nino this year - the warming of the 熱帯の 太平洋の which 影響(力)s the world's 天候 and increas es 全世界の 気温s - it is starting to look like another extra warm year, said University of Arizona 気候 scientist Jonathan Overpeck.

The first six months of the year are the third warmest first six months on 記録,記録的な/記録する, coming behind 2010 and 1998, によれば NOAA.

全世界の 気温 記録,記録的な/記録するs go 支援する to 1880 and this is the 352nd hotter than 普通の/平均(する) month in a 列/漕ぐ/騒動.

"This is what 全世界の warming looks like," Overpeck said in an email. "Not 記録,記録的な/記録する hot everywhere all the time, but certainly a reflection that the 半端物s of 記録,記録的な/記録する hot are going up everywhere around the 惑星."
