Fukushima 放射(能) (悪事,秘密などを)発見するd off California coast: Low levels of isotope from 2011 核の 災害 設立する

  • 放射(能) from the 2011 Fukushima 災害 has been 設立する 近づく the US
  • Seawater 160km off Californian coast was 設立する to 含む/封じ込める Caesium-134
  • This is an isotope that only occurs in 核の 原子炉s and can be used to trace the spread of 放射(能) from Fukushima
  • However the levels 設立する were very low and not harmful to humans
  • But lead 研究員?Dr Ken Buesseler says it is important to continue 跡をつけるing the 放射(能) to 確実にする it does not reach dangerous levels

Trace 量s of 放射(能) 起こる/始まるing from the Fukushima 災害 have been (悪事,秘密などを)発見するd off the Californian coast.

Although the levels are not high enough to 原因(となる) any health 問題/発行するs in humans, the 発見 is a worry that 放射(能) can travel so far from the 災害.

It is the first (犯罪,病気などの)発見 of 放射(能) 起こる/始まるing from Fukushima 設立する across the 太平洋の Ocean.

The findings were made by Dr Ken Buesseler from the 支持を得ようと努めるd 穴を開ける 海洋学の 会・原則 (WHOI).

He says they (悪事,秘密などを)発見するd very small 量s of an isotope called caesium-134, which can only 起こる/始まる from 核の 原子炉s and does not form 自然に.

This makes it a useful isotope to trace the 放射(能) 漏れる from Fukushima, 報告(する)/憶測s Live Science.

The 量 of caesium-134 設立する was very small and does not 提起する/ポーズをとる a health 危険, said Dr Buesseler.

WHAT IS A BECQUEREL??

A Becquerel (BQ) is a 部隊 of 放射性の decay equal to one disintegration per second.

The Becquerel is the basic 部隊 of 放射能 used in the international system of 放射(能) 部隊s, referred to as the 'SI' 部隊s.

The 最大限 level of 放射(能) 許すd in foods for human 消費 is 100 becquerels/キログラム.

Two becquerels per 立方(体)の metre of water was 設立する in seawater 100 miles (160km) 沖合いの/海外の from the town of Eureka in California.

A Becquerel is the number of decay events per second per 260 gallons of water

For comparison, this is about 1,000 times いっそう少なく than the 安全な drinking water 限界 によれば the US 環境の 保護 機関.

And if someone were to swim in the water for six hours a day, 365 days a year, the dose of 放射(能) they received would be いっそう少なく than 0.01 micro Sieverts - which is 同等(の) to eating a 白人指導者べったりの東洋人.

‘We (悪事,秘密などを)発見するd caesium-134, a contaminant from Fukushima, off the northern California coast. The levels are only detectable by sophisticated 器具/備品 able to discern minute 量s of 放射能,’ said Dr Buesseler in a 解放(する).

In the 影響 of the 2011 津波 off Japan, the Fukushima 核の 力/強力にする 工場/植物 解放(する)d caesium-134 and other 放射性の elements into the ocean at 前例のない levels.

Since then, the 放射性の plume has travelled east across the 太平洋の, propelled 大部分は by ocean 現在のs and 存在 diluted alo ng the way.

At their highest 近づく the 損失d 核の 力/強力にする 工場/植物 in 2011, 放射能 levels 頂点(に達する)d at more than 10 million times the levels recently (悪事,秘密などを)発見するd 近づく North America.

Using models scientists are able to 予報する where this 放射(能) from Fukushima will go.

It is 推定する/予想するd to appear off the coast of Alaska and Canada before drifting 負かす/撃墜する to Hawaii.

However aside from this (犯罪,病気などの)発見 no 調印する of caesium-134 has been spotted anywhere nearer the coast so far.
