Women's desks are the dirtiest in the office

Last updated at 09:31 16 February 2007

A tidy desk, they say, 示唆するs a tidy mind.

Unfortunately the 普通の/平均(する) office desktop is

絶対 filthy.

It harbours a 大規模な 400 times more

bacteria than the 普通の/平均(する) 洗面所 seat,

研究員s 設立する.

And women, 明らかに, have much

dirtier desks than their male 同僚s.

The 研究員s 非難するd this on the fact

that women tended to keep 軽食s の近くに at

手渡す or 蓄える/店d in the drawers.

構成 and 手渡す lotions also helped

encourage bacteria, 同様に as a collection

of phones and handbags.

Women had up to four times more germs

in, on and around their desks, phones, computerskeyboards, drawers and personal

items than men, the 熟考する/考慮する by Professor

Charles Gerba from the University of

Arizona showed.

But men are a long way from 存在 able

to 宣言する themselves the kings of clean.

Some things it seems, are even germier

than women’s desks.

The worst 違反者/犯罪者, the 研究員s

設立する, was a man’s wallet.

"It’s in your 支援する pocket where it’s nice

and warm, it’s a 広大な/多数の/重要な incubator for

bacteria," Professor Gerba explained.

He 自白するd surprise at the results of his

germ 実験(する)s, which were carried out in more

than 100 offices on the university campus

in Tucson 同様に as in New York, Los

Angeles, San Francisco, Oregon and

Washington.

"I thought for sure men would be germier,"

he said.

"But women have more interaction with

small children and keep food in their desks."

He said up to 75 per cent of women in the

研究 認める to 扱う/治療するing their desk as

a larder.

"I was really surprised how much food

there was in a woman’s desk," he said.

"If there’s ever a 飢饉, that’s the first

place I’ll look for food."
