王室の gardener 明らかにする／漏らすs 最高の，を越す tips to get rid of slugs and snails

Gardening season is upon us and as we 始める，決める up our 事業／計画（する）s for the year ahead we will be reminded of some familiar 敵s: slugs and snails.

These pests can 廃虚ing your garden, but there are several things you can do to 阻止する them from your 聖域.

Jack Stooks, 上級の Gardener at the 王室の family's Highgrove House, 明らかにする／漏らすd that while the two are different, you can catch slugs and snails together in a variety of ways.?

Mr Stooks has worked for the 王室の 世帯 for over two １０年間s, during which time he has 統括するd over some of the best-kept gardens in the country.

So, how are regal gardens kept 解放する／自由な from slugs and snails? Find out the gardener's four methods below.?

DIY fermented yeast drink 罠（にかける）?

Mr Stooks said making your own fermented yeast drink 罠（にかける）s and placing them in the garden will work for both pests - but will 要求する topping up and refreshing 定期的に.?

The 罠（にかける）s, which can be made by 注ぐing a fermented yeast drink into a small dish, jar or bowl, attract slugs and snails with their odour.

'With snails and slugs, it is pretty much the same,' he told Betway, 'you can catch both with fermented yeast drink 罠（にかける）s, which you can buy ready-made online or make your own.?

'They can be expensive but I would 示唆する making your own with jam jars. What you do is dig it 負かす／撃墜する into the ground so the 最高の，を越す is level with the 国／地域. Into that, you put in a ４半期/4分の1 of the jam jar, and fill up with the fermented drink.'

You can make your own 'drink' by mixing water with a small 量 of sugar and 乾燥した，日照りのd yeast.?

Ms Stooks continued: 'The slugs will be attracted to the yeasty odours, which will make them travel 負かす／撃墜する the jar, which can be covered わずかに using a 激しく揺する. Often you'll find a few the next day or leave it for a few days, before emptying them out into the compost and redoing it with fresh drink.

'However, this won't work with snails. If you are trying to catch snails you are going to need a bigger glass jar, as you need a bigger 開始.?

'The only problem with leaving a bigger 開始 is that once it rains, it washes 負かす／撃墜する the drink, so 最高の，を越す up and change the drink 定期的に if you are trying to catch them both.'

But while the 罠（にかける）s may be an 効果的な 解答, the gardener also 明らかにする／漏らすd that one of the best ways to get rid of snails is to go out at night with a たいまつ and 選ぶ them up.

Using the 罠（にかける）s, you 危険 also catching 野性生物 such as insects which would be 有益な to your garden.?

'Another good way of catching snails is by 選ぶing them up,' Mr Stooks 追加するd.

'Ideally, you can do this at night and go around with a たいまつ as this is when they are more 流布している.?

'These types of animals are attracted to the light from the たいまつ, which makes them easier to catch.'?

有機の gardening

He 追加するd that 有機の gardening will also 許す 野性生物 支援する into our garden while 自然に deterring snails and slugs from eating your 工場／植物s.

Mr Stooks said: 'Having an 有機の garden or using 有機の ways of gardening 許すs 野性生物, such as frogs, badgers, birds and hedgehogs, 支援する into your garden.?

'These animals will 自然に 阻止する snails and slugs from eating your 工場／植物s as they eat them.'

The 王室の Horticultural Society defines 有機の gardening as 'cultivation systems which make 極小の use of 製造（する）d 化学製品 実体s' with a 見解（をとる） to '強調するing the interdependence of life forms'.

巡査 collaring

The garden 専門家's final suggestion to 区 off slugs and snails was 巡査 collaring - where you put a 巡査 collar around 工場／植物 マリファナs or 工場／植物s themselves.

'If you have マリファナs and it's 平易な enough to put a collar around,' he said, 'or [for] 確かな 工場／植物s you could do this too.?

'However, I do find this is やめる a monotonous way of doing things. Fermented drink 罠（にかける）s are the best and easiest way of 取引，協定ing with slugs in the garden, but it's good if people can have a few different methods to try and see what 作品 best for them.'
