How much of a 脅し to humanity is space junk? Scientists (人命などを)奪う,主張する there is a 10% chance 落ちるing 破片 will kill someone within the next 10年間 - after out-of-支配(する)/統制する Chinese ロケット/急騰する 衝突,墜落d to Earth over the 週末

  • Chinese ロケット/急騰する 破片 衝突,墜落d to Earth over Indian & 太平洋の oceans at 週末

Over the 週末, 破片 from an out-of-支配(する)/統制する Chinese ロケット/急騰する 衝突,墜落d to Earth over the Indian and 太平洋の oceans.

There had been 恐れるs that pieces of the 23-tonne Long March 5B booster could come 負かす/撃墜する over a 居住させるd area, but 専門家s?had said the probability of this was 極端に low.

にもかかわらず, 航空宇宙局 攻撃する,衝突する out at 中国 by 告発する/非難するing Beijing of not 株ing the '明確な/細部 trajectory (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状)' needed to calculate where possible 破片 might 落ちる.?

どこかよそで at the 週末, a 10ft (3m) piece of?space junk?? thought to be from one of Elon Musk's 宇宙船s ? 衝突,墜落d into a 農業者's 所有物/資産/財産 in Australia at around 15,500mph (25,000km/h).

The 反対する, believed to be part of the SpaceX 乗組員-1 (手先の)技術, was 設立する in a sheep paddock by a 農業者 living on a large 所有物/資産/財産 in the 雪の降る,雪の多い Mountains in New South むちの跡s.

These events have 誘発するd その上の questions about the 脅し of space 破片 to people on the ground, although 専門家s 主張する it is still a very remote 可能性 that anyone would be 傷つける.

A 最近の 熟考する/考慮する by scientists at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver 警告するd?there was a 10 per cent chance that an out-of-支配(する)/統制する ロケット/急騰する or 宇宙船 could kill someone within the next 10年間.??

一方/合間, Jonathan McDowell, an astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian 中心 for Astrophysics, told MailOnline that にもかかわらず the 増加する in space 破片 in low-Earth 軌道, this does not equate to more 危険 for humans.

He 追加するd: 'The Long March 5B is the most worrying one because it is so large. But there is a (lower) 危険 from the 破片 from all countries.'

SpaceX is yet to 認める the Australian 破片 as its own, but 専門家s say its re-入ること/参加(者) path matches that of the 乗組員-1 Trunk, which is the unpressurised 底(に届く) part of the 要約する/(宇宙ロケットの)カプセル.

開始する,打ち上げるd in 2020, SpaceX 乗組員-1 was the first 操作の 乗組員d flight of a 乗組員 Dragon 宇宙船.

Last month, scientists at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver analysed the 危険 to human life of 反対するs 急落するing to the ground after re-entering the Earth's atmosphere.

Under 現在の practices, the 研究員s 設立する that, if a typical ロケット/急騰する re-入ること/参加(者) spreads 破片 across a 10 square metre (108 sq ft) area, then there is 概略で a 1 in 10 chance that one or more 死傷者s will occur over the next 10 years.

They also said there was a higher 危険 to those living in the 全世界の south, with errant parts three times more likely to land at the latitudes of Jakarta, Dhaka and Lagos than those of New York, Beijing or Moscow.?

However, にもかかわらず 80 per cent of the world's people living in what is known as a '危険 zone', just 0.1 per cent of it is considered 居住させるd.

'Everything else is ocean, forest or 農業の land,' said Dr Shane Walsh, a 研究 fellow at the International Centre for 無線で通信する Astronomy 研究.?

'It's 極端に ありそうもない to 原因(となる) 損失 or loss of life.'

The problem with 中国's ロケット/急騰するs is rooted in the risky design of the country's 開始する,打ち上げる 過程.

Usually, discarded ロケット/急騰する 行う/開催する/段階s re-enter the atmosphere soon after liftoff, 普通は over water, and don't go into 軌道.

However, the Long?March 5B ロケット/急騰する does.

There have been calls by 航空宇宙局 for the Chinese space 機関 to design ロケット/急騰するs to 崩壊する into smaller pieces upon re-入ること/参加(者), as is the international norm.?

But 中国 has 以前 拒絶するd 告訴,告発s of irresponsibility, with the Chinese Foreign 省 説 the 見込み of 損失 to anything or anyone on the ground is '極端に low'.

US Space 命令(する) 確認するd that the 破片 re-entered the atmosphere at だいたい 12.45pm ET on Saturday, referring all questions about the 正確な 場所 of re-入ること/参加(者) and 破片 dispersal to the Chinese 政府.

航空宇宙局 said Beijing had not 株d the '明確な/細部 trajectory (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状)' needed to calculate where possible 破片 might 落ちる.

It had been 恐れるd that the 破片 could land in Mexico, but it 最終的に landed in the ocean, without 原因(となる)ing any 傷害s or 損失.

'All spacefaring nations should follow 設立するd best practices and do their part to 株 this type of (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) in 前進する to 許す reliable 予測s of 可能性のある 破片 衝撃 危険,' 航空宇宙局 行政官/管理者 法案 Nelson said.?

'Doing so is 批判的な to the responsible use of space and to 確実にする the safety of people here on Earth.'

A recent study claimed there was a higher risk to those living in the global south, with errant parts three times more likely to land at the latitudes of Jakarta, Dhaka and Lagos than those of New York, Beijing or Moscow. Some major and high-risk cities are labelled: 1, Moscow; 2, Wa

WHAT IS TIANGONG??

中国's space 駅/配置する is called 'Tiangong', meaning 'Heavenly Palace'.

Tiangong is 構成するd of several different modules that are 開始する,打ち上げるing one by one.

Last May, one of the country's?Long March ロケット/急騰するs broke up on re-入ること/参加(者) above the Indian Ocean, north of the Maldives, 主要な to 関心s that it?could 粉砕する into a 居住させるd area on land.

It 最終的に fell into the ocean, but Nelson still 問題/発行するd a 堅固に-worded 声明 which said: 'Spacefaring nations must minimise the 危険s to people and 所有物/資産/財産 on Earth of re-入ること/参加(者)s of space 反対するs and maximise transparency regarding those 操作/手術s.'

In 2020, pieces from the first Long March 5B fell on Ivory Coast, 損失ing several buildings but not 原因(となる)ing any 傷害s.?

In most 事例/患者s, the abandoned ロケット/急騰する parts re-enter the atmosphere in an uncontrolled fashion and 破片 may land anywhere along the flight path.

An 概算の 13,100 衛星s have been 開始する,打ち上げるd into 軌道 since 1957, によれば the European Space 機関, with 8,410 remaining in space and 5,800 still 機能(する)/行事ing.

The total 集まり of all 反対するs in 軌道 is said to equate to around 9,900 tonnes, while 統計に基づく models 示唆するs there are 130 million pieces of 破片 from 1mm to 1cm in size.

In June, the UK 政府?発表するd 計画(する)s for an 'RAC for space' as part of its 見通し to 取り組む millions of shards of 破片 clogging up 近づく-Earth 軌道.?

It also wants to 改善する the sustainability of 未来 space 使節団s, with Science 大臣 George Freeman 問題/発行するing a 厳しい 警告 to the likes of Russia and 中国 that 'the days of putting up whatever they want have got to be over'.

He said a 'Wild West' space race without 効果的な 規則 would only serve to 増加する the growing 脅し of 破片 in 軌道, 含むing hundreds of old 衛星s.

Mr Freeman also told MailOnline that he 推定する/予想するd Elon Musk to 落ちる in line with Britain's 押し進める for space sustainability, 追加するing that the need for 活動/戦闘 was not something the US 億万長者 could ignore.

Critics of Musk say his Starlink 星座 is hogging space, with both 中国 and the European Space 機関 taking 目的(とする) at his 衛星-internet system, but the Tesla 創立者 has rubbished these 恐れるs.

The UK 政府's raft of new 対策 含むs 規制するing 商業の 衛星 開始する,打ち上げるs, rewarding companies that minimise their 足跡 on the Earth's 軌道, and dishing out an 付加 £5 million for 科学(工学)技術s to clean up space junk.

WHAT IS SPACE JUNK? MORE THAN 170 MILLION PIECES OF DEAD SATELLITES, SPENT ROCKETS AND FLAKES OF PAINT POSE 'THREAT' TO SPACE INDUSTRY

There are an 概算の 170 million pieces of いわゆる 'space junk' - left behind after 使節団s that can be as big as spent ロケット/急騰する 行う/開催する/段階s or as small as paint flakes - in 軌道 と一緒に some US$700 billion (£555bn) of space 組織/基盤/下部構造.

But only 27,000 are 跡をつけるd, and with the fragments able to travel at 速度(を上げる)s above 16,777 mph (27,000kmh), even tiny pieces could 本気で 損失 or destroy 衛星s.

However, 伝統的な gripping methods don't work in space, as suction cups do not 機能(する)/行事 in a vacuum and 気温s are too 冷淡な for 実体s like tape and glue.

Grippers based around magnets are useless because most of the 破片 in 軌道 around Earth is not 磁石の.

Scientists point to two events that have 不正に より悪くするd the problem of space junk.

The first was in February 2009, when an Iridium telecoms 衛星 and Kosmos-2251, a ロシアの 軍の 衛星, accidentally 衝突する/食い違うd.

The second was in January 2007, when 中国 実験(する)d an anti-衛星 武器 on an old Fengyun 気象衛星.

専門家s also pointed to two 場所/位置s that have become worryingly cluttered.

One is low Earth 軌道 which is used by satnav 衛星s, the ISS, 中国's 乗組員を乗せた 使節団s and the Hubble telescope, の中で others.

The other is in geostationary 軌道, and is used by communications, 天候 and 監視 衛星s that must 持続する a 直す/買収する,八百長をするd position 親族 to Earth.?
