Former England captain Steph Houghton was joined by a host of footballing 王族 as she 押し進めるd her husband Stephen Darby in a 車椅子 to raise 認識/意識性 for モーター Neurone 病気, which ended his career.

The 178-mile trek to Anfield, which was led by former Liverpool player Darby and former Bristol City 今後 Marcus Stewart - who both を煩う the illness - helped raise £130,000 for the 原因(となる).

The three-day 'March of the Day' walk started at Bradford City's Valley Parade stadium on Friday, where Darby spent five years of his career, before ending at Anfield, the home of Liverpool, on Sunday.


Houghton was joined by a number of her former Lionesses team-mates on the walk, with Jill Scott and 現在の England 星/主役にする Chloe Kelly showing their support on the day.

Houghton told the BBC of her 感謝 of everyone who turned out and helped raise money in their 企て,努力,提案 to find a cure for MND.

It is a rare 条件 that 影響する/感情s the brain and nervous system, 原因(となる)ing those 診断するd with the illness to 苦しむ symptoms of 証拠不十分 in their 四肢s, slurred speech and 負わせる loss. It can 影響する/感情 adults of any age but is more likely to 影響する/感情 people over the age of 50.

WHAT IS MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE?

モーター neurone 病気 is a rare 条件 that おもに 影響する/感情s people in their 60s and 70s, but it can 影響する/感情 adults of all ages.

It's 原因(となる)d by a problem with 独房s in the brain and 神経s called モーター neurones. These 独房s 徐々に stop working over time. It's not known why this happens.

Having a の近くに 親族 with モーター neurone 病気, or a 関係のある 条件 called frontotemporal dementia, can いつかs mean you're more likely to get it. But it doesn't run in families in most 事例/患者s.

早期に symptoms can 含む 証拠不十分 in your ankle or 脚, like finding it hard to walk upstairs; slurred speech, finding it hard to swallow, a weak 支配する, and 漸進的な 負わせる loss.

If you have these symptoms, you should see a GP. They will consider other possible 条件s and can 言及する you to a specialist called a neurologist if necessary.
