A student whose stepfather placed a hidden camera の中で her teddies just after she turned 18, filming her naked and even 'using (her) underwear and sex toys' himself, has called for tougher 宣告，判決s on voyeurism after he was given a '非難する on the wrist' of 22 months in 刑務所，拘置所.
Catherine Simpson, 21, from Northampton, said no-one believed her growing up when she raised 関心s about sexually suggestive behaviour from her 48-year-old stepfather Paul Sellwood.
Her mother told her Paul 'didn't mean anything' by a '非難する on (her) arse' and lewd comments - she has since apologised to Catherine.
In September 2021 - just weeks before her nineteenth birthday ? Catherine's brother called her, explaining he had 設立する a picture of her in her work uniform on their family iPad.

Supported by her work 同僚s, Catherine called Northamptonshire Police and Paul was 逮捕（する）d, later admitting to voyeurism - with the 軍隊 知らせるing her he 記録，記録的な／記録するd her 'for his own 性の gratification'.
Around two years later, Paul was 宣告，判決d at Northampton 栄冠を与える 法廷，裁判所 on September 21 2023, receiving a total of 22 months 監禁，拘置 for six 告発（する），告訴（する）／料金s, 含むing 16 months for voyeurism, and a 10 year 性の 害（を与える） 予防 Order.
Even though Catherine did not …に出席する the 宣告，判決ing, she said 審理，公聴会 詳細（に述べる）s of the 事例／患者 afterwards from her family was 'disgusting' ? 含むing him 'using (her) underwear and some of (her) sex toys' in her bedroom.
While she 述べるd the result as a 'victory' for 法律 施行, she feels the length of the 刑務所，拘置所 宣告，判決 is 'laughable' when compared to 罪，犯罪s such as cannabis 所有／入手, for which someone could receive up to five years in 刑務所，拘置所.
She has now 開始する，打ち上げるd a 政府 嘆願（書）, which calls for an '増加する (in) 最大限 宣告，判決s for sex offences 含むing voyeurism', and she hopes this will help other 犠牲者s speak out and feel 保護するd.
'I understand that it's such a big 業績／成就 to get someone like that behind 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業s, but on my part, I just honestly do think it's disgusting how short the 宣告，判決 is,' Catherine said.
'If the police caught me with cannabis in my bedroom, I'd probably get longer (in 刑務所，拘置所), and I don't understand it.
'The 衝撃 he's had on me and my whole family, it feels like he's just getting a 非難する on the wrist at the end of the day.'

Catherine said Paul entered her life when she was around nine years old after her parents got 離婚d, after which she （人命などを）奪う，主張するs 'violent episodes' started to occur - although he never 肉体的に 傷つける her.
As the years went on, Catherine said she 星／主役にする ted to notice 'a more controlling and 性の undercurrent' in his behaviours and she （人命などを）奪う，主張するs he would make '不適切な comments' about her 団体／死体 and 負わせる.
'One time, when I was around 15, he said: "If you touch yourself and squeeze your nipples, it will feel really good", and I just thought, why are you 説 that to me?' Catherine said.
On another occasion, 老年の 18, Catherine （人命などを）奪う，主張するs he 'slapped (her) arse' while she was 一打／打撃ing her dog on the bed - but when she tried to raise her 関心s with her mother, she said she was told: 'Oh, he doesn't mean anything by it.'
Catherine said Paul made her '深く，強烈に unhappy', but given he was loved by her mother and other family members, who she does not wish to 指名する, no-one believed her - her mother and family have since apologised.
It was only when Catherine received a call from her brother while she was working at a 地元の pharmacy in September 2021 - just days before her nineteenth birthday - that her whole world changed.
'I went outside, and I answered and said, 'Is everything okay?' And he said, 'I 設立する a photo of you on the iPad',' Catherine explained.
'To me, this wasn't unusual as we had a family iPad, so I said, 'What's the problem?' And he said: 'Oh, it was taken in your room... and it looks like it has been taken on 最高の，を越す of your wardrobe'.'

After Catherine hung up, she started 'shaking' and burst into 涙／ほころびs in 前線 of her 同僚, who 知らせるd the 経営者／支配人, and together they encouraged her to phone Northamptonshire Police.
That evening, Catherine said she received a follow-up phone call from the 軍隊, 説 they had 逮捕（する）d Paul and 設立する a camera in her room hidden の中で her stuffed teddies above her wardrobe.
Catherine could not sleep that night and was 'crying in her bedroom' as she felt 危険な, and when the police called her again, they said they had interviewed Paul and he 認める to 記録，記録的な／記録するing her.
'They said, essentially, it was for his own 性の gratification, and he didn't 否定する it at all,' she said. 'It was a sickening feeling and I felt 圧倒的な 苦悩 and panic.'
Catherine said police 掴むd his electronics, and soon after this, she threw away all the teddies above her wardrobe, which she had collected every year as a family tradition, as she 'couldn't stomach looking at them'.
She decided to 圧力（をかける） 告発（する），告訴（する）／料金s and then underwent a '神経-wracking' police interview - and although the officer 尋問 her was 'lovely', she 設立する this 'terrifying'.
'I cried and 叫び声をあげるd at part of it because the one question I remember was, 'What are you 脅すd of Paul seeing?' And I just said: 'Me naked and doing what a girl does in her room when she's naked',' Catherine said. 'I don't think it's ever something that's going to go away.'

Northamptonshire Police said Paul had thousands of images on his laptop, 含むing だいたい 300 images and ビデオs of Catherine - all understood to have been taken after she turned 18, with many showing her naked on her bed.
審理，公聴会 詳細（に述べる）s of the 宣告，判決ing afterwards, she said: 'If I'd been sat there, I honestly would have felt violently sick. It was just the number of images, and it was him coming into my room and using my underwear and some of my sex toys.'
Paul entered 有罪の 嘆願s for six 告発（する），告訴（する）／料金s, 含むing voyeurism, and he was 宣告，判決d to a total of 22 months 監禁，拘置 at HMP Peterborough and received a 10 year 性の 害（を与える） 予防 Order.
The other 告発（する），告訴（する）／料金s were three counts of making indecent photographs of a child, one count of 所有するing 禁じるd images of a child, and one count of 所有するing extreme pornographic image/images portraying an 行為／法令／行動する of intercourse/oral sex with a dead/alive animal.
Although Catherine is pleased Paul has been put behind 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業s, she feels '失望させるd' with the length of the 刑務所，拘置所 宣告，判決 given - and this led her to 開始する，打ち上げる her own 政府 嘆願（書）, which was 認可するd in February 2024.
The 嘆願（書）, which 現在／一般に has 351 署名s, calls for an '増加する (in) 最大限 宣告，判決s for sex offences 含むing voyeurism', as Catherine wants to help others and create a 'safer space for women'.
She feels those who commit 性の offences are not 'punished enough' when compared to 宣告，判決s for other 罪，犯罪s, as the 犠牲者s often live with the 衝撃s for 'the 残り／休憩（する） of their lives'.
株ing the 犠牲者 衝撃 声明 she wrote for the 宣告，判決ing 審理，公聴会, which was directed at Paul, Catherine said: '説 out loud that I hated the thought that you had watched me touch myself made me feel sick.
'Fuelled with the 外傷／ショック you had put me through, 疑問ing my capacity to do my degree and just thinking, 'What's the point?', I went crazy.
'I was rarely sober, drinking and taking different 麻薬s at least four times a week, clubbing until 早期に hours, and winning social 特別手当 points by 存在 the drunkest in any room.
'I just stopped caring... I just 手配中の，お尋ね者 to forget and move from one day to the next. You (Paul) have 衝撃d every part of my life and I hate it ? but in doing so, you have made me the most resilient person I know.?
'Throw anything at me and I can take it because I managed to 生き残る you.'

'I am pleased to see Mr Sellwood sent to 刑務所，拘置所 for these offences and although the 宣告，判決 won't erase what he did, I hope it 供給するd the young woman in this 事例／患者 with some 外見 of 司法（官）.
