VED - or car 税金, as it's often referred - went under the レーダ in the 予算. Like most years, an 増加する in 率s in-line with the 小売 Price 索引 was buried in the 公式の/役人 文書 and means the cost of 税金ing a car is likely to 増加する for most drivers over the next 12 months.??

I AM BUYING A BRAND NEW CAR REGISTERED AFTER 1 APRIL 2024
When 運転者s buy a new car, they are stung with a first year 税金 率 - also known as a 'showroom 税金 率' - based on the CO2 放出/発行s of the 乗り物 they 購入(する).?
After this first year showroom 税金, owners will then have to 支払う/賃金 a 直す/買収する,八百長をするd-price 基準 税金 率 (which you can find in the next section below).

Anyone buying a new モーター with CO2 放出/発行 above 150g/km will be 軍隊d to 支払う/賃金 an extra £35 to £140, with the most 汚染するing models clobbered by a first-year showroom 税金 率 of £2,745.

I OWN A CAR REGISTERED BETWEEN 1 APRIL 2017 AND 31 MARCH 2024
If you own a car that was first 登録(する)d between 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2024, the RPI 引き上げ(る) will also translate to an 増加する in 基準 率 car 税金, which is paid from the car's second year onwards.
This has been upped by?£10, rising from £180 to £190 for 石油 and ディーゼル models and 増加するing from £170 to £180 for '代案/選択肢 燃料 乗り物s' (hybrids and plug-in hybrids).
The 基準 率 of VED for 無-放出/発行 electric 乗り物s (EVs) bought during this period is wavered, but EVs will 直面する 課税 from next under new 支配するs 提案するd by Mr 追跡(する) in 2022.
運転者s who spend over £40,000 on a new car are stung with an 付加 賞与金 税金 that 衝撃s the 量 of VED the 支払う/賃金 for the first 5 years at the 基準 率 - this year, the cost of this 賞与金 税金 has risen by £20

VED for cars this old is 分裂(する) into just two 禁止(する)d based on engine size - up to 1.55 litres and over 1.55 litres.
For those in the lower group, the rise is £10 a year, up from £200 to £210. For the larger engine capacities, 大臣s have 攻撃する,衝突する them with a £20 増加する, rising from £325 to £345 from 1 April 2024.
