A 地雷 explorer who has visited more than 100 abandoned 場所／位置s across the UK for fun has 明らかにする／漏らすd some of his finds.

Peter Pink, 38, a care 労働者 from Middlesbrough, has spent the past seven years 調査するing 地雷s in England and むちの跡s that have been の近くにd for １０年間s - but 警告するd that the 火刑／賭けるs are high.

Peter, who lives in Guisborough, North Yorkshire, always carries a gas 監視する to check how much oxygen is in the 空気／公表する and gives his wife Emma, 32, a 'call out time' so that if he does not resurface, she will 警報 the 緊急 services.

'I've 設立する 負担s of old dynamite,' Peter said.

'They go like a squashed 白人指導者べったりの東洋人 and the only thing keeping them together is the label.'

Some of the dynamite sticks Peter has 設立する were branded Nobels, after the Swedish 化学者／薬剤師 Alfred Nobel, who invented the 爆発性の in the 1860s and used his fortune to 設立する the Nobel Prize 会・原則.?

Peter's passion for 調査するing abandoned 地雷s started in 2017 after he つまずくd upon a small 穴を開ける in Loftus, North Yorkshire, and 地位，任命するd a picture online, which received '負担s of attention'.

'It went from that small 穴を開ける to abandoned train tunnels and then I discovered the 地雷s and I've never gone anywhere else,' he said.

But 調査するing these abandoned tunnel systems, some of which are 30 miles long, can 証明する 致命的な as oxygen levels in the 空気／公表する can change suddenly.

Oxygen usually makes up around 21 per cent of the 空気／公表する we breathe in at ground level, but in the 地雷s that level can 下落する as low as 12 per cent, when you start to lose consciousness.

'You can die within minutes,' Peter said.?

'When you are 地下組織の it can just start dropping.

'You can't breathe or walk, not 適切に anyway ? it feels like someone is sitting on your chest.

'You're staggering all over, you can't think 適切に and start slurring your words and then if you stay there long enough, you'll pass out.'

'It usually happens where there are rotten 木材／素質s,' he said.

'Makes me laugh because outside, where we are now, you need trees to breathe, but in a 地雷 they are trying to kill you.'

'I stepped on one once but luckily I didn't go all the way th rough because it was flooded below.'?

In March last year, Peter helped 緊急 services to discover the 団体／死体 of fellow 地雷 explorer Adam Perkins.

The 24-year-old had last been seen at 8pm on Monday, March 20, 2023, when Peter 設立する his rucksack in a section of Ayton Monument 地雷 where he said oxygen levels were below 15 per cent ? known to the 採掘 community as the 'wheel of death'.

'A friend had sent me a 地位，任命する about this 行方不明の boy from Sheffield who was a 地雷 explorer,' he said.

'I knew the 地雷 really 井戸／弁護士席 so when I got home from work, I put my gear on and went out with a friend.

'I went 負かす／撃墜する one of the main drifts and the oxygen was getting too low ? the last time I checked it was 12 per cent.

'I looked inside and there was a box of stuff that had his 指名する on it.

'So I ran out and phoned the 緊急 services.'

'You just leave 足跡s and don't take anything,' said Peter.

'I've cleaned up a couple where there were beer cans and stuf f like that.

'I don't understand why people would drink in a 地雷.'
