But times have changed, and now the computer invariably says ‘no’.
So is there any way 一連の会議、交渉／完成する this when it comes to hotel rooms, trains, 巡航するs and, yes, flights?

HOTELS

- 簡単に ask in an undemanding way if it might be possible to be 昇格d at the 率 already agreed. This stands a good chance of working if it’s already 6pm or later, because the hotel is ありそうもない to sell the room at a 賞与金 price at that time.
- Rooms with baths tend to be bigger than those just with a にわか雨. So 強調する／ストレス how you have your heart 始める，決める on a lovely long soak in a tub and hope the receptionist is 同情的な. If he or she is, then an 昇格 is likely.
- Honesty 支払う／賃金s, so if it’s a special occasion, speak up and ask if an 昇格 could be 申し込む／申し出d. Special occasions can be 解釈する／通訳するd liberally.
- Tell the receptionist how much you have been looking 今後 to your stay and how you have heard so much about the hotel. Then 減少（する） into the conversation how an 昇格 would be the olive in the Martini.
- If you're staying for the second, third, or fourth time, tell the hotel you’re keen to experience a different room 部類, space permitting.
- If the hotel has a 忠義 計画／陰謀, join it. You will be する権利を与えるd to perks 含むing 昇格s, 解放する／自由な night stays and 割引s on food and drinks.
CRUISES

- Choose to sail out of season when the ship is ありそうもない to be 十分な and there is more of a chance to 昇格. That’s 一般に November to April (除外するing Christmas) in Europe; May and September in Alaska and September to December in the Caribbean.
- Stay loyal to one 巡航する line and there’s a greater 見込み of getting a complimentary or 減ずるd-price 昇格. Some 巡航する lines 申し込む／申し出 this automatically. If not, ask.
- Look out for 昇進／宣伝s such as Regent Seven Seas 巡航するs’ ‘昇格 and 調査する More’ 取引，協定. It 申し込む／申し出s a two-部類 控訴 昇格 across 33 European voyages between July and November 2024 (調書をとる／予約する by April 30).
- Get to know a travel スパイ／執行官’s 巡航する specialist who will be ‘in the know’ about the 最新の o ffers.
- 調書をとる／予約する a 保証（人）d cabin in a 確かな 部類 (so you’re 保証するd a cabin but not 割り当てるd one until about a week before 出発) so that if it’s 十分な, you might get 昇格d.
- Be bold. Call your 巡航する line a couple of weeks before 出発 and ask about an 昇格.

FLIGHTS

- Be 現実主義の: dressing in your Sunday best, flirting with the cabin 乗組員, or 発表するing that you’re on your honeymoon is 高度に ありそうもない to get you a 解放する／自由な 昇格.
- Overbooked flights 申し込む／申し出 the best 解答. And 航空機によるs such as British 航空路s and Virgin 大西洋 almost always oversell their flights ― 特に on long-運ぶ／漁獲高 大勝するs. When this happens, they will often bump ‘エリート status’ 支えるもの／所有者s (see below) up one cabin class to 解放する／自由な up more space in the oversold cabin. You sho uld always ask (don’t be shy).
- To 伸び（る） ‘エリート status’ you need to join the 航空機による’s たびたび（訪れる） flier club. For BA, this is its (n)役員／(a)執行力のある Club (解放する／自由な to join at ba.com) and for Virgin 大西洋, join its 飛行機で行くing Club (解放する／自由な at virginatlantic.com). And remember, these 計画／陰謀s are connected to other 航空機によるs. BA’s (n)役員／(a)執行力のある Club is part of the Oneworld 同盟 that also 含むs American 航空機によるs, Cathay 太平洋の and others, while Virgin’s 飛行機で行くing Club links with SkyTeam 航空機によるs such as 空気／公表する フラン and Delta. So 昇格s may be possible with those, too.
- 調印する up to websites that 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） ‘error fares’. These are pricing mistakes made online by either an 航空機による or travel 機関 予定 to human error or incorrect 通貨 転換s. Such fares are often up to 90 per cent cheaper than the 基準 price and 利用できる for only an hour or two before they’re spotted by the 航空機によるs and 除去するd. So 調印する up for email 警報s from kayak.com, hopper.com and secretflying.com.
- Check in online as soon as possible. 航空機によるs 階級 乗客s in order of 優先 by their sequence number. The earlier you check in, the lower your sequence number. For example, if there are 300 乗客s on a flight to New York and you check in fifth, you’re more likely to get an 操作の 昇格 than the 300th person.
- Build up たびたび（訪れる） flier points. Using 空気／公表する miles is another way of 安全な・保証するing an 昇格. Most 航空機によるs, such as BA and Virgin, will 許す you to 昇格 one cabin using points.
- The 賞与金 economy cabin is the smallest on any 航空機 and the one from which you’re most likely to get a 解放する／自由な 昇格 to 商売／仕事 class.
AIRPORT LOUNGES?

- Consider 調印 up for a credit card that 供給するs lounge passes as part of its 年次の 取引，協定 such as American 表明する Platinum (which 含むs a 優先 Pass and travel 保険) or American 表明する Preferred Rewards Gold, which 申し込む／申し出s a 最大限 of four 優先 Pass lounge visits.
- Stay loyal to one 航空機による and its たびたび（訪れる） flier 計画／陰謀 ― or other 航空機によるs within its group (see ‘Flights’ section above) ― and 忠義 points will accrue that can lead to 解放する／自由な airport lounge passes.
TRAINS
