Let’s be honest, it was only a 事柄 of time before king of the TV kitchen Jamie Oliver got on board with the 空気/公表する fryer craze.?

Unlike any that have come before, 空気/公表する fryers have seemed to stay 最高の,を越す of the 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる) of must-have kitchen gadgets for some time now.

Most of us are likely pretty good at 空気/公表する fryer cooking these days, making use of the many recipe 調書をとる/予約するs that have been published, not to について言及する tonnes of TV segments and literally millions of 切り開く/タクシー/不正アクセスs broadcast across TikTok and Instagram.

Their 人気 means it’s perhaps not unsurprising that Jamie Oliver failed to impress with his new series about cooking with 空気/公表する fryers.?

From the 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる) of 成分s and associated cost, to his techniques that don’t seem to 許す for having to clean your own 空気/公表する fryer, 加える the (疑いを)晴らす 製品 placement, reviews of the first episodes of Oliver’s episodes - in which he 約束d to show that 空気/公表する fryers are about 'so much more than nuggets and 半導体素子s' - were scathing.?

The celebrity chef's new 空気/公表する fryer cooking series was met with mixed reviews

An 空気/公表する fryer fan myself (I?cooked a whole Christmas Party in one once just to see if I could), I’m always up for a few new recipes, so decided to try some of Oliver’s 創造s myself and see how 平易な they are.

A quick look through the collection (which you have to 調印する up for to 伸び(る) 接近 to some of the recipes, and swerve the many Tefal adverts along the way - one of the sources of 批評 of the new series) and there’s a nice enough 選択, from a strange-sounding ‘gnarly pork and pineapple noodles’ to ‘Kerala-style roast chicken’ and ‘Prosciutto baked fish’ which sadly looks わずかに unappealing thanks to the image.?

I 選ぶ to try a 選択. 空気/公表する fryer barbecue chicken thighs, because who doesn’t love barbecue chicken. Salmon with crispy potatoes, because it’s more like a ‘proper meal’ than some of the other recipes on there.?

Then a few baked goods - 空気/公表する fryer oat cookies, and cheese and chive scones - as I’m still not やめる sold on the idea of baking in an 空気/公表する fryer, so maybe Jamie Oliver will be the one to 納得させる me.

Predictably, the 成分s 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる)s 要求する a trip to the 地元の Co-op with the hope they’ll have everything I need.?

To be fair to Oliver, the 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる) isn’t too far out of the ordinary and is 公正に/かなり bog 基準, though I might have helped him out with my recipe choice.?

Ellen tried four of the recipes: Barbecue chicken thighs, salmon with crispy potatoes, oat cookies and cheese and chive scones

To start off with, Ellen's haul from the Co-Op cost £20, and that didn't even include store cupboard items

To start off with, Ellen's 運ぶ/漁獲高 from the Co-Op cost £20, and that didn't even 含む 蓄える/店 cupboard items

Herbs is where I’m let 負かす/撃墜する, but I decide I can make do, and commit to my cheese scones 存在 chive-いっそう少なく - but hopefully still tasty.

The shop for the main 成分s for the four recipes - 耐えるing in mind I’ve got a few 中心的要素s like flour and other spices in my 蓄える/店 cupboard already - comes to just over £20.?

It doesn’t s eem 不当な for two meals for two, 加える endless baked goods that will see us through a couple of days of 軽食ing (unless they’re awful of course), compared to some 成分s 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる)s.?

But given the fact food 法案s are still problematic for many people, hence so many of us turning to 空気/公表する fryers as a cost-saving 選択, forking out £20 for essentially four meals and some 扱う/治療するs may be seen as a step too far compared to some of the other 空気/公表する fryer and one-マリファナ 選択s out there.

Barbecue chicken thighs?

The recipe is easy enough - essentially coating chicken thighs in a barbecue rub along with breadcrumbs

The recipe is 平易な enough - essentially 塗装 chicken thighs in a barbecue rub along with breadcrumbs

Jamie's chicken, which he served with corn on the cob and slaw
Ellen served the chicken with a pot of barbecue sauce as Jamie's 'crunchy slaw' seemed like a lot of effort

Ellen served the chicken with a マリファナ of barbecue sauce as Jamie's 'crunchy slaw' seemed like a lot of 成果/努力. Above: Jamie's chicken (L) and Ellen's dish (R)

I start with the chicken, 人物/姿/数字ing that cooking salmon first will mean I definitely have to wash the 空気/公表する fryer between recipes, 反して this way 一連の会議、交渉/完成する I can probably cook it afterwards.?

The recipe is 平易な enough - essentially 塗装 chicken thighs in a barbecue rub along with breadcrumbs, which I make thanks to a rogue piece of bread from the 支援する of the freezer, then 空気/公表する fried, with c orn on the cob 追加するd on 最高の,を越す after the chicken’s had a 長,率いる start.?

The corn comes out nice and golden (thanks to a 自由主義の spray of olive oil spray on my part) and while some of the chicken does, some breadcrumbs still look a bit anaemic at the end of the cooking time.?

I’d love to 信用 Jamie Oliver, but instead I choose to 信用 my 気温 調査(する) and it 確認するs that yes, the thighs are indeed cooked.?

I serve it all with a マリファナ of barbecue sauce, because I can’t be bothered with Jamie’s 示唆するd ‘crunchy slaw’, and to be fair it looks pretty good.?

As 控訴,上告ing as a golden, crispy pile of fried chicken? Maybe not, but we knew that wouldn’t be the 事例/患者.?

It’s a (人が)群がる-pleaser, though, and one you could easily serve up for friends. But is it doing anything we 港/避難所’t been doing with chicken in 空気/公表する fryers for a few years now? Not really.?

Annoyingly, though, my 空気/公表する fryer is now 十分な of breadcrumbs so my 計画(する) to be able to re-use it without washing it is 廃虚d. Off I 長,率いる to the 沈む.

Salmon with crispy potatoes?

Ellen soon began to note that the recipes were quite simple and she didn't feel 'tested'

Ellen soon began to 公式文書,認める that the recipes were やめる simple and she didn't feel '実験(する)d'

Jamie's colourful salmon dish
Ellen concluded that the salmon was a nice and easy meal. Above: Her interpretation

Ellen 結論するd that the salmon was a nice and 平易な meal - but that she probably didn't need a fancy recipe from Jamie Oliver to make it. Above: Ellen's salmon (R) and Jamie's (L)

Next up is salmon. Another simple one, that really isn’t 実験(する)ing either my 空気/公表する fryer or my own cooking abilities.?

Sliced new potatoes, 投げ上げる/ボディチェックするd in olive oil and seasoning then 空気/公表する fried with some thyme.?

Except I don’t have thyme so I chuck a bit of rosemary in instead. The salmon sits on 最高の,を越す after 存在 投げ上げる/ボディチェックするd in more olive oil and seasoning along with the asparagus, 加える a few chunks of lemon.?

Again, it’s tasty and a nice 平易な meal. But did I need a much-hyped recipe from Jamie Oliver to make it? Probably not.

空気/公表する fryer oat cookies?

The method of making the cookies was 'easy enough' but Ellen soon grew frustrated at the impracticality of cooking them in batches

Ellen admitted that making the cookies made the house smell lovely. Above: Her interpretation

Ellen 認める that making the cookies made the house smell lovely - and her husband certainly 認可するd. Above: Ellen's cookies (R) and Jamie's cookies (L)?

The baked 扱う/治療するs are perhaps more of a 推論する/理由 to 協議する recipes for. I’m no パン職人, and certainly 港/避難所’t ever bothered trying in my 空気/公表する fryer, but I can see why the oat and sultana cookies 控訴,上告.?

They’re not too 複雑にするd ーに関して/ーの点でs of 成分s, though I’m not sure they’d 勝利,勝つ any healthy eating awards thanks to the 容積/容量 of sugar and golden syrup in them - but these are 空気/公表する fryer recipes, not virtuous health-driven ones.?

The method is 平易な enough. Melt butter and golden syrup, 追加する to a bowl 十分な of oats, flour, sugar, lemon zest and some cinnamon and bicarb 加える the sultanas, then mix together into a dough and divide into balls ready to cook.?

It’s 現実に no different to normal cookie making - you’re 簡単に swapping the cooking method from oven to 空気/公表する fryer.?

Although frustratingly, the fact that 15 cookies need to be done in (製品,工事材料の)一回分s means it takes three goes of 15-minute cooking 開会/開廷/会期s to get them done, and lots of swapping and changing, which leaves me wondering if it would have been easier to just bake 従来の cookies in the oven.?

< p class="mol-para-with-font">Not to について言及する the fact that some have stuck to the 空気/公表する fryer basket which means yet more きれいにする, so on (製品,工事材料の)一回分s numbers two and three I have to keep a closer 注目する,もくろむ and try to make sure it doesn’t happen.?

A spray of oil helps, too, I find. にもかかわらず what feels like a bit of a faff, I’ll 収容する/認める the house smells lovely thanks to the hints of cinnamon and general home baking loveliness.?

They get the taste 実験(する) 調印(する) of 是認 from my husband, who 賞賛するs the crunch on the outside and softness inside, though I’m not sure if that's 負かす/撃墜する to Jamie Oliver’s genius or just a tried-and-実験(する)d cookie recipe that he’s 可決する・採択するd.

Cheese and chive scones?

Jamie didn't suggest using a scone cutter so Ellen cut hers into triangle shapes

Jamie didn't 示唆する using a scone 切断機,沿岸警備艇 so Ellen 削減(する) hers into triangle 形態/調整s

Jamie's scones, which he served with salad and lemon cream cheese

But she said she'd make the finished scones again - にもかかわらず the final five steps 教えるing her to make a salad (which she left out). Above: Jamie's scone dish (L) and Ellen's 解釈/通訳 (R)

The scones are again essentially a 従来の recipe, just using an 空気/公表する fryer.?

Flour and butter, along with some 情熱 砕く and cayenne pepper, gets rubbed into breadcrumbs, then grated cheese 追加するd.?

I couldn't find chives, so I’ve turned Jamie’s ‘Cheese and Chive scones’ into bog 基準 cheese 見解/翻訳/版s but I’m sure he won’t mind. I mean, he doesn’t even 示唆する using a scone 切断機,沿岸警備艇.?

What 空気/公表する fryer recipes does Jamie Oliver 申し込む/申し出??

  • Crispy potato 肌s
  • BBQ chicken
  • Salmon with crispy potatoes
  • Cauliflower curry
  • Harrisa squash salad
  • Oat cookies
  • Cheese and chive scones
  • Baked alaska... and more

Instead, we’re advised to 削減(する) into ‘triangular’ wedges, so I’m sure he’ll applaud my 類似の laissez-faire 態度.?

Once 小衝突d with milk and topped with more cheese and cayenne pepper, in they go, 現れるing after 12 minutes rather beautifully and as 約束d - in his words, 'crispy and golden but also fluffy inside'.?

I’m amused to find that the final five steps of this 12-step recipe is 現実に nothing to do with scones, but is a very 詳細(に述べる)d method to making a salad to go with them. I 溝へはまらせる/不時着する this - because who eats scones with a salad - but I do make his ‘lemony cream cheese’ which is a nice 新規加入.?

Of all the recipes, this is the one I’d do again, and maybe even follow his jolly advice to 'give a 甘い 見解/翻訳/版 a whirl'.

Final 判決?

Feast 用意が出来ている, I’m not やめる as annoyed as some of the people commenting on Jamie Oliver’s 最新の 出資/貢献 to the UK’s culinary scene. Just underwhelmed.?

We’ve all long agreed that an 空気/公表する fryer is hugely versatile, thanks to the fact it’s essentially a small convection oven, so of course some recipes can be 基本的に the same as the 初めのs, just cooked in this much-loved gadget instead of our 伝統的な ovens. This collection of recipes are good enough.?

They all work, taste pretty good, and aren’t too difficult to knock up, even though some really would be easier to do in an oven, unless you can maybe have three 空気/公表する fryers on the go at the same time to get the space you’d need to do 多重の things at the same time.

But more importantly, in a world where chefs, influencers, and all sorts of other people have been doing weird and wonderful things with 空気/公表する fryers, Jamie’s recipes just feel a bit basic and, やめる f rankly, a bit last season when it comes to 空気/公表する fryer experimentation.?

I suppose we can’t 非難する him for wanting to jump on the bandwagon, 特に if it’s going to earn him a bit of money and get him on the telly.? But the problem is, he’s just a bit late to the party….
